Granted, I don't think he really means it. Also, I've read in a couple of other articles on the same subject that the murder was alot more brutal then simple strangling. He even went to his girlfriend's house to give her a ring afterwards.

If it is connected, it would be the second case... There's a guy being held in jail in Edmonton, awaiting trial for murder. The alleged killer was an aspiring filmmaker who was working on a script about a serial killer.

I think its very important to examine exactly what was said.

If the article has his quote worded properly:

"Made him feel like" is the operative phrase here. In other words he is relating how he feels after, not what influenced him to kill. If you've seen Dexter this boy does to a degree sound alot like Dexter. No emotion, fakes it to appear normal, kills because it makes him feel good.

If he had been influenced by Dexter I would ask myself what his little brother did to deserve it since Dexter never kills anyone who isn't a criminal in some way.
