UPDATE: Okay, this is officially the nicest Hampton I've been in. And you already know I love the Hampton. In addition to having great staff, and being just gorgeous, this is what I encountered upon entering my room tonight (when I checked in I just tossed my stuff in and bolted, so didn't really stay here for more than a moment):
I saw the message light on the phone blinking.
Oooookay....
So I hit the button for messages. And I had TWO messages.
Seriously..... wtf:
First message was a pre-recorded message telling me to enjoy my stay, and if there was anything the staff could do, just let them know.
Okay, this is getting ridiculous. And a bit over the top. I get it. You are committed to my enjoying myself. But the recorded message....stop.
And then the second message.
A LIVE message from the staff (concierge? front desk? general manager? Don't know) checking to see if everything was okay, and letting me know that, REALLY, if there was anything, anything at ALL that I needed or wanted, just ask.
We have passed ridiculous and over the top and gone straight to Are You Serious? But unlike the eyeroll that I gave to the first message, this one got me thinking, Damn! How cool!
Seriously, this is commitment. Hampton has a loyal customer here. (Still worried about what awaits me at the breakfast buffet, though...)
