  • Sorry coworkers.

I feel horrible about this but I haven't been to my job in almost 2 months. I haven't had good health insurance in five years and finally the waiting period on being added to my husbands Heath insurance past so I went for a check up. I was slightly anemic and depressed in February. We start treating. May 6th I get a clean bill of health. May 8th I start bleeding internally for no apparent reason. I had intestinal bleeds and started my period despite being on drugs to suppress it. My red blood cells plummet to the lowest levels after two weeks and no one can find a reason. The intestinal bleeding stops as it was a celiac reaction but the other bleeding continues. My GP puts me off work to wait for a specialist who fits me in as soon as he can. In the mean time I have had six blood draws and 2 visits to urgent care. They tell me to eat iron rich food but nt to use supplements as it can mess with diagnostics. Finally get to the specialist and he Freaks out. He puts me on iron and sends me for several kinds of ultra sounds. Luckily all tests come back negative for cancer and endometriosis but the unexplained bleeding is not responding to typical drugs so he gives me a drug that finally works and I end up with an iud in an attempt to control the bleeding. I an still super anemic and not allowed to work or drive or exert my self in any way. In 2 weeks they will check my blood again and say up yes or no on going back to work. I feel so bad for my coworkers. We were understaffed to begin with.

If you are sick (and it does sound bad, I hope they find the solution soon), then you are sick. Worrying about your coworkers will only make you feel worse, and it will take longer to heal.

I know it is hard, but your health must be a high priority.
I might be crazy, but I'm not Insane.

What? You don't play with flamethrowers on the weekends? You are strange.

You're sick. It's not like it's something you planned on just so you can get time off of work. The best thing you can do for you and your coworkers is to get better. That means resting and not stressing.

Once you are better, you can always take treats to your coworkers to say sorry.
