I heard this classic line the other day in Target. I do remember how much fun this particular phrase was. But this particular case seemed pointless to ask:

1) The item in question was D-size batteries.
2) This was the day before Hurricane Irene was expected to hit us.

I know not everything always makes it out onto the sales floor, but I'm gonna go ahead and assume that under these particular circumstances every store around is quite aware of the demand for batteries.

uggg samr thing happened at my store w/ the D-batteries.

I even had some customer say she is goin to shop where people know what they are doin. News flash lady its the day the hurricane is to start noone will have d-batteries left.

i'd tell them where to go online but... most likely they still wouldn't get them in time.
