    Dash camera sightings.

    I received a dashcam for my birthday earlier in the year... one of my parents knew I was addicted to watching those Russian videos...

    Anywho, I haven't caught any crashes, only a few douchebags, and other stuff...

    I've been hooked on these myself recently. The Russian ones are insane but I've been watching a London motorcyclist on YouTube called Premises189 (I think). I've never had the desire to ride a motorbike but his videos have opened my eyes of how they're abused by drivers, cyclists, pedestrians, in fact just about everyone.

      We're about to upgrade smartphones, and I told my wife that I'm turning my old one into a dashcam/GPS. Hardware's good enough, and there's a number of good free apps out there. Why not?

      She doesn't see the reason. Bet that'll change the first time there's an accident...

        I could watch these dashcam videos all day. Hours of amusement. Especially the ones of people trying to run in front of cars.

          I used to have one in my work car. Sadly I lost all the videos of stupid when my hard drive crashed.

            I have a cheap 50$ dash cam, but works just fine; takes 20min sections of video so you can find the segment you're looking for, and starts re-recording when memory is full.

                Gotta love the left turn thing. Its not so much not looking as not grasping the concept of having more than one turn lane. My last month as a courier i was involved in three hit and runs like that. Between that and other accidents on the job, at the last accident scene, one of the responding officers looked at my van and asked which dent was from today.

                    Yeah . . . I'm sorry I went to it. Just watched a nasty dash cam video of a dog being dragged behind a car in China.
