  • How to confuse guests

    So at the Resort, the PBX phone is in the back office right behind the front desk where we have our own little mini call center for reservations. Whenever a guest calls the front desk, it goes back there and I answer it as "front desk". It's the front desk, it's just not the front front desk because we want the CWs actually at the desk to focus on guests in front of them instead of phones.

    Last night, it worked out that it was all male coworkers up front, and me and another female coworker answering phones in the back.

    *phone rings*
    Me: "Hello, this is bhskittykatt at the front desk. How may I assist you?"
    Guest: "Yes this is...wait...I was just down there checking in and there were no women there! WHERE DID YOU COME FROM?"
    Me: "I magically appeared especially for you. How may I assist you?"
    Guest:
    Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.
