    Speaking of Aussie bats and birds, if you happen to get bitten or scratched by a bat infected with lyssavirus, good luck. It's basically fatal.
    As for birds, the cassowary is extremely dangerous-it has a mighty kick and can basically disembowel a person (I am not making this up)

    Seshat, we have plenty of gloves for handling redbacks. The roaches are bigger than their Adelaide counterparts though

    White-tips are apparently more dangerous, I have not encountered funnelwebs, but I've had a few spiders drop down on me in bed. It's not a nice feeling.

    I have yet to encounter a stonefish, but yes, they are camouflaged hence the name. The first time I heard the name was during Ocean Girl (kids tv series in the 90's set around the Great Barrier Reef) and I was convinced they'd made the fish up. Nope, actual fish.
