First of all, Black Friday is not technically a holiday. But if we're including that, we really should include Super Bowl Sunday, which like Black Friday is a de facto national holiday. One of my favorites, but I know there are many people who aren't football fans and who could give three flying shits about that day.

And what about other holidays? Arbor Day? Labor Day? Memorial Day? Veterans Day? Presidents Day? Fourth of July? Tax Day? (Not a holiday, but probably many people's least favorite day of the year.) New Year's Eve? Mother's Day? Father's Day?

I have no doubt that there are people that hate every one of those holidays.

    Just saying.

MY personally most hated holiday is pretty much a known public record.

Can I say "all?" I...don't really like holidays. I really don't like the holiday season at all.

I mean, yes, I like Christmas and Halloween's all right, and Thanksgiving's ok, and all that.

But there are also a lot of reasons I can't stand any of them.

I DID forget Easter. Probably because I'm a heathen infidel.

But then, I also forgot Hanukkah, Yom Kippur, and Passover. My grandmother would smack me. If she could reach my head. Or she'd just have my tall cousin smack me.

I'm an Atheistic LaVeyan Satanist.. I don't celebrate the religious trappings of Easter.

A few pics of me partying some years back, I'd show em to people and say "That was one crazy Yom Kippur"

              Poll

Jester: I said event in general, that includes Black Friday. I couldn't add the other days you listed because the poll only allows 10 options max.

Eisa: Of course you can choose all. I will edit the poll so you can do so.

HappyFun Ball: So I did. I will add that as well. Thanks for letting me know!

Let me know if I forgot any other dates.

              C'ya!

Valentines day. Why? Because I always seem to be single.

Quite often, actually. Well, occasionally. Well, every now and then.

                      Oh, nevermind.

I put April Fools Day because I don't like being humiliated (though I admit I'm almost never a prank victim), Halloween just because it annoys me (except some of the scary movie type stuff), and Black Friday even though it's not really a holiday because I think it's just gone scarily out of control. I'd have to say my favorite holiday is probably Independence Day, July 4 here in the States.

What I don't like about Christmas and all the days that surround it from Black Friday to Boxing Day is all of the commercialism and gimme gimme gimme. In the last hundred years the secular Christmas has just gotten completely out of hand. Now, I love decorating my house for the season, baking, caroling, and heck, I do LOVE giving gifts (but I don't need a day of the year specified for doing it), but the giving and receiving of gifts has become the primary focus and that's, just such an empty thing. I really wish Clement C. Moore hadn't conflated Saint Nicholas and Father Christmas to create Santa Claus and we'd left the stocking-hanging for Dec. 6th, and the other gift-exchanging to small tokens on Christmas, new year's gifts (the real origin of giving gifts this time of year), and for those who want a religious symbolism based tradition, 3 *small* token gifts on Epiphany. My favorite part of Christmas is the midnight mass at my church. Especially when the lights are all out and we've the candles lit and we're all singing Silent Night. It's MAGICAL. For me, that's the real Christmas. Everything else is just noise. /rant

                            Labor Day.

It's a holiday for the working person. But not if you're in retail.

I'm not fond of April Fool's Day. It's like a day that you're allowed to bully people & get away with it all in the name of having "fun". A lot of mean spirited people go too far with it on that day.
