Not only does it look weird, it's got a distinctly plastic feel to it.

A bank employee saw me coming, bill in hand, and started to laugh, adding, "It's real" before I could get a word out. I must've been one in a long line of people going, "WTF?!?"

That would be because unlike previous bills which are made from organic materials like cotton and similar materials, the new bills are made from a woven polymer compound, so it is a type of plastic.
