    KING OF TRIOS UPDATES!

8/20 - "KENNY!" "JOHNNY!" "MIKEY!" "AND WE ARE... THE SPIRIT SQUAD!" Yes, the three male cheerleaders formerly of WWE are coming to Chikara as the first official trio announced for this year's King of Trios tournament.

8/22 - The Kings return! 2012's King of Trios champions return to KOT action this year as The Spectral Envoy's UltraMantis Black, Hallowicked, and Frightmare take to the field.

8/24 - Confirmation has now been given that Team UK will be in KOT, consisting of Mark Andrews, Pete Dunne & Damian Dunne.

8/25 - Trio #4, the perennial fan-favorites of The Colony, one group of which won the 2011 KOT tournament, will be fielding their current lineup of Silver Ant, Fire Ant, and Worker Ant!

8/26 - Sidney Bakabella's trio of face-painted psychopaths join the field as The Devastation Corporation's Max Smashmaster, Blaster McMassive & Flex Rumblecrunch will help represent The Flood in KOT.

8/27 - As if in response to The Flood's first team's appearance, the trio that turned the tide at NPWD rides into Easton, as 3Peck0's Shane Matthews, Archibald Peck & Scott Parker will be at KOT.

8/28 - The wrath of GEKIDO will be at KOT as the team of The Shard, 17 & Jigsaw will help represent The Flood.

8/29 - Trio announcements will continue to come daily next week, with Trio #15 to be announced on next week's "Event Center" video on Friday. Today's trio is The Golden Trio of Chikara's current reigning champions: Grand Champion Icarus, and Campeones de Parejas The Throwbacks, Dasher Hatfield & Mr. Touchdown. This marks the first time since KOT 2008 that there has been a "Golden Trio" in competition at the tournament, when the trio in question was the Campeones (then Delirious & Hallowicked) and the Young Lions Cup champion (then Helios).

8/30 - Another Flood team has joined the field, as a team called BDK^3, consisting of Dr. Cube & the BDK's Ares and Nøkken, will take part in the tournament.

8/31 - Yarrr! Huzzah! And such. The newest trio announced are Knight Eye For The Pirate Guy. KE4TPG, Jolly Roger & Sir Lance Steel, are fan-favorites, despite their recent association with the vand entitled "Princess" Kimber Lee. The Princess herself will join her time-displaced knight and the "party pirate" on the KOT field.

9/1 - Bully! Good show, old chap! Jervis Cottonbelly & Marion Fontaine, collectively dubbed Old Fashioned, join forces with the female powerhouse Thunderkitty to form Team Extravaganza to take part in KOT.

9/2 - Another Flood trio will take the field as the circus freaks represent. Kizarny & His Odditorium, Sinn Bodhi, Sir Oliver Grimsly & Qefka the Quiet, will bring their unorthodox style to the table.

9/3 - The Bloc Party of the Proletariat Boar of Moldova, Mr. Azerbaijan & Prakash Sabar are the latest team to take the field.

9/4 - The Flood are now fielding what can be seen as their "leadership" team, as Jimmy Jacobs will lead his disciples, Volgar (the surviving 'plague doctor') and the 'Mad King' Eddie Kingston, into battle.

9/5 - Surprising few fans, the 15th trio is The Colony: XTREME Force of Orbit Adventure Ant, Arctic Rescue Ant & Missile Assault Ant, another Flood team.

9/6 - The final trio in this year's field is L.A.X. (The Latin American eXchange) of Chavo Guerrero Jr., 'The Notorious 187' Homicide and Hernandez.

      KING OF TRIOS UPDATE!

9/6 - The entire KOT field has been revealed-- consult the first post of this page-- and it has been confirmed that the annual Fan Conclave will take place on Sept. 20th before Night 2, although what attractions will be featured at the Fan Conclave has not been revealed yet.

There has been some flack on the 101 Forums and elsewhere from some fans who feel disappointed by this year's lack of star power to the King of Trios tournament. Previous years have seen several outside teams brought in for the weekend, but this year, there haven't been as many "big name" teams. Some fans have even declared they're selling their tickets as a result. Most fans, however, feel the weekend will still be excellent despite this and heated words have been exchanged on the 101 forums.

Now that the field has been finished, more updates will come soon with first-round match-ups.

9/8 - In addition to the Fan Conclave before Night 2, KOT weekend will also feature a Chikara Pot-Luck Cookout Thing. Specifics regarding the Cookout Thing are still vague.

9/8 - Kid Cyclone has issued a challenge to Deucalion. This may not end well.

9/8 - The Rey de Voladores ("king of flyers") mini-tournament returns on KOT Nights 2 & 3. Two four-way eliminators will take place on Night 2, with the winners going into the finals on Night 3. TNA's luchador Tigre Uno has been confirmed as making his Chikara debut in the Rey de Voladores competition.

9/8 - Former WWE superstar Yoshi Tatsu makes his Chikara debut on Night 2 when he'll take on Ashley Remington in singles action.

9/9 - The first two KOT Opening Round matches have been announced. First, the former followers of the Polar Baron, The Bloc Party will take on Team UK. Second, the Jigsaw/Jolly Roger 'rivalry' crops up again as Knight Eye For The Pirate Guy will go up against GEKIDO.

9/9 - The "Spirit Dragon" Shynron has been added to the first Rey de Voladores eliminator, joining Tigre Uno.

9/10 - The third participant of the first Rey de Voladores eliminator has been announced. Rich Swann, master of the standing 450 splash, will join Tigre Uno and Shynron.

9/10 - Two more first round KOT matches have been announced, as The Flood's "elite" team of Jacobs, Volgar & Kingston will take on the reigning 2012 KOT champions, The Spectral Envoy. Also, Sidney Bakabella's Devastation Corporation will collide with Team Extravaganza's Jervis Cottonbelly, Marion Fontaine & Thunderkitty.

9/10 - Still to come tonight, an announcement for "The Battle of the Bowties" for Night 2. The Battle of the Bowties has been revealed. Ecuador's arrogant aristocrat Juan Francisco de Coronado will take on TNA's Rockstar Spud.

9/11 - Two more opening round KOT matches have been revealed. The Flood trio of BDK^3 will take on the Canadian time-traveling trio of 3Peck0. Also, ants will battle ants as The Colony renew their rivalry with The Colony: XTREME Force.

9/11 - Per his Twitter, Archibald Peck says that the "3Peck0" trio is not set in stone. It is assumed this is in regards to recent travel/visa issues Canadian wrestlers have faced, resulting in some being banned from entering the U.S. At this time, it is not certain if Scott Parker, Shane Matthews, or Archibald Peck are among those affected by these recent issues.

9/11 - The first Rey de Voladores match has been finalized with Chuck Taylor joining the match.

9/12 - Kid Cyclone made it clear on this week's King of Trios Report that he and the rest of the Greenhorn Militia will be at KOT all three nights, and that they are aiming to challenge Deucalion.

9/12 - The final two first round matches have been announced. The Spirit Squad will take on Kizarny & His Odditorium on Night 1, and The Golden Trio will go up against L.A.X.

9/12 - The Submission Squad-- Evan Gelistico, Pierre Abernathy, Davey Vega & Gary the Barn Owl-- have signed with AAA! No, not the Mexican promotion, the American Automobile Association. They will be at Night 3 for atomicos (four-on-four) action. Their opponents have yet to be announced.

9/12 - Another TNA wrestler will be in action on Night 2, as Great Muta protege Sanada will be in the second Rey de Voladores eliminator.

9/13 - Ophidian of the Osirian Portal will be in action on Night 2, joining the second Rey de Voladores eliminator.

9/14 - Ophidian is not added to the RdV, I mis-read a post on the 101 forums. Also, Chuck Taylor has been quietly removed from the Rey de Voladores eliminator.

9/15 - The Batiri's Obariyon & Kodama have entered the Tag Team Gauntlet.

9/16 - Just as mysteriously as he'd been removed, Chuck Taylor is back in the first Rey de Voladores eliminator on Night 2. In addition, Amasis of the Osirian Portal has been added to the second eliminator.

9/16 - Qefka the Quiet is out of competition, having suffered a broken arm at CZW's Dojo Wars event earlier this week. No word yet on who will replace him, or if it will be done via random drawing. As well, Homicide may be out, as he is missing TNA's tapings in Bethlehem due to shoulder and elbow issues.

9/17 - In an update to Qefka and Homicide's statuses, Chikara officially stated on the 101 forums not to consider them out of competition. Qefka's broken arm may not be as severe as it initially seemed, enough for him to work with a soft cast in limited roles, and Homicide has had off-and-on shoulder issues for many years.

9/17 - Race Jaxon & Hype Rockwell, N_R_G from the 2014 rookie class, have been added to the Tag Team Gauntlet.

9/17 - "Kid Hybrid" Orlando Christopher, of whom I know little, has been added to the second Rey de Voladores eliminator.

9/17 - Sidney Bakabella's Wrecking Crew-- in the form of Oleg the Usurper & Jaka-- have been added to the Tag Team Gauntlet.

9/18 - The Rey de Voladores eliminators have both been filled. The last man in the second eliminator is the high-flying AR Fox.

9/18 - Another show has been quietly announced on Chikara's website for Dec. 6th, "Tomorrow Never Dies." Location and venue information has yet to be revealed.

9/18 - Chikara's flagship tournament to highlight wrestling's rookies, the Young Lions Cup XI tournament, will be hosted by Wrestling Is Fun! in October and November.

I am posting this from the hotel in Easton. KOT starts in a couple of hours. I am, you might say, hyped.

Watch this space for updates and the trip report.

        NIGHT 1!
        1) Team UK def. The Bloc Party. Sean 'X-Pac' Waltman was there to do commentary. He thought Ex-Pakistani Prakash Sabar was hilarious, from what I could tell. Mark Andrews pinned Sabar after a shooting star press. Team UK advances.

        2) GEKIDO def. KE4TPG. Story was that Jigsaw didn't want to fight Jolly Roger. Kimber Lee took a hellacious beating but refused to back down. Star-making performance from her. 17 tapped J-Ro to a London Dungeon-esque armlock. Post-match, GEKIDO abandoned Jigsaw, and J-Ro yelled at him, "You're not my brother!" GEKIDO advances.

        3) The Spirit Squad def. The Odditorium. Odditorium attacked the Squad mid-cheer. Kizarny was crap, but this is no surprise. The fans once again wanted to see the mime get destroyed. Kenny pinned Grimsly after he and Mikey hit a Two-Post Massacre (legdrop and splash). Kizarny yelled at the Odditorium all the way to the back. Spirit Squad advances

        4) The Flood Elite def. The Spectral Envoy. The Flood came out with the Lithuanian Snow Troll in chains, and chained him to the ring post. Eddie Kingston wore a 'Court of Owls' mask during the entrance. Chaotic brawl to start. When the Envoy rallied, the ref got distracted trying to unchain the Snow Troll, allowing Deucalion to emerge with Delirious, whom he sicced on Mantis. This left Mantis open for the Backfist to the Future from Kingston for the pin. The Flood advances.

        Intermission.

        5) Devastation Corporation def. Team Extravaganza. Dev Corp showed Thunderkitty absolutely no respect, and only grudgingly did so when she started fighting back. Dev Corp pinned Marion Fontaine after hitting the Death Blow. Dev Corp advances.

        6) 3peck0 def. BDK Cubed. Dr. Cube had completely ineffective offense. Ares and Nokken had to do all the work. Jagged got the pin for 3peck0 after rolling up Ares with a Majistral cradle. Post-match, Ares yelled at Cube and went to hit him, but was stopped by Nokken, who then laid him out. Cube unmasked to reveal JAKOB HAMMERMEIER! Jakob said his career had been a series of disappointments, all of which he laid at Ares' feet. He also revealed that he had the Eye of Tyr, and was in the monster wrangling business. He said he got the Eye after he "made a deal with some devils," and is taking over the BDK. He and Nokken abandoned Ares in the ring.

        7) The Golden Trio def. L.A.X. LAX worked heel, with Homicide mocking and taunting incessantly, and Hernandez doing big-man offense and even 'looking bored' while doing it, miming checking his watch. Chavo was in good form, too. Chavo ate the pin after the Throwbacks caught him with a 3D. Post-match, Chavo put over indie wrestling, Chikara and its champs, and King of Trios. Homicide thanked the fans, and said "Go Yankees!" Classic heel.

Before the main event, the rookie class Greenhorn Militia (#GHM)-- Equinox III, Create-a-Wrestler II, and Kid Cyclone-- hit the ring. They gave shout-outs to the fallen Latvian Proud Oak, Estonian Thunderfrog, and Kobald, and then accused their supposed mentors of caring more about selling merch and winning more accolades than about fighting the Flood and standing up for Chikara and its ideals. Kid Cyclone called out Deucalion, accusing him of being a coward because he didn't want to face someone who was at a 100%. Hallowicked came out and summoned the GHM to the back. Before leaving, Kid Cyclone called Deucalion a coward again.

        8) The Colony def. The Colony XTREME Force. Early in the match, Worker Ant's knee was clipped, then slammed with Arctic Rescue Ant's snowboard. Silver Ant & Fire Ant had to go it alone for a while against the CXF. Eventually Worker came back out, despite the injury, and would not stay down, even after Arctic Rescue broke his snowboard over his head. Missile Assault Ant ate the pin after getting slammed with the Ant Hill. The Colony advances.

I also made a recap video and show off some of the merch I bought at the show.

          Night 2 recap
          1) Rey de Voladores Eliminator - Shynron def. Tigre Uno, Rich Swann & Chuck Taylor
          - Eliminations: Swann def. Taylor with a Five-Star Swann Splash, Tigre def. Swann with a submission, Shynron def. Tigre with a backflip cutter and a 2nd rope 630 senton.
          - Taylor was the only one who worked heel. He started out hiding in the 5th row and wanted no part of the other three.
          - I don't think the laws of physics were properly explained to Shynron. Goddamn!

          2) King of Trios Quarterfinal - 3peck0 def. GEKIDO
          - Jigsaw was still being a jerk. But GEKIDO were being bigger jerks to him. Those jerks thought 'Jerksaw' wasn't ruthless enough or something. Jerks.
          - Shane Matthews tapped Jigsaw to Da Boston Crab for the win.
          - Post-match, GEKIDO were furious with Jigsaw and started to leave without him. When they stopped and told him to come with them, he turned his back on them. Shard got in his face about it, and Jigsaw kicked him in the head.
          - Quackenbush showed up and pleaded with Jigsaw on the mic. "Chikara is your family, Jigsaw. Chikara needs you." Jigsaw bailed on hugging him, walking out the door, yelling, "I don't need anybody!"

          3) Battle of the Bowties - Juan Francisco de Coronado def. Rockstar Spud
          - JFDC was played out by Christin, a woman who won a talent show at the Fan Conclave with her flute playing. JFDC took her flute and broke it. #HEEL
          - Some antics surrounding adjusting their bowties started out the match. Spud thought that was it, until it was explained that there was a match as well. The fans told Spud, "Read your contract!"
          - Spud noticed the only man in the ring without a bowtie was Bryce, the referee. He pulled a spare bowtie out of his tights and put it on Bryce. Then JFDC tore it off and stomped on it. #HEEL
          - Finish came when Spud went for a top-rope maneuver. JFDC crotched him, then hit him with a deadlift German suplex for the pin.

Before the next match, the GHM came out again. Kid Cyclone said they don't like bullies, and that bullies are cowards. He gave Deucalion one last chance to prove he's not a coward. When Deucalion didn't show, Kid Cyclone said they'd take a page out of his book and cripple him when he least expected it.

          4) King of Trios Quarterfinal - The Devastation Corporation def. Team UK
          - Team UK fought hard in this match. But Dev Corp are bigger, stronger, and meaner.
          - Mark Andrews ate the pin after getting hit with the Death Blow.

          Intermission.

          5) Rey de Voladores Eliminator - The Great Sanada def. Amasis, AR Fox & Kid Hybrid
          - Eliminations: Sanada def. Hybrid with a rollup and his feet on the ropes, Amasis def. AR Fox with a 450 splash, Sanada def. Amasis with poison mist and a superkick.
          - Sanada worked heel. He picked up that pin after Hybrid hit Amasis with a tree-of-woe coast-to-coast headbutt. It left Hybrid loopy enough for the pin.

          6) King of Trios Quarterfinal - The Golden Trio def. The Spirit Squad
          - The Squad turned heel before the match, cutting a promo and refusing to do a cheer, and then ripping up their pompoms.
          - Kenny ate a 3D from the Throwbacks and then got locked in Icarus' Chikara Special for the tap out win.

          7) "Smooth Sailin'" Ashley Remington def. Yoshi Tatsu Yamamoto via disqualification.
          - Some comedy antics involving them dodging or evading one another's moves in the early going.
          - Remington was aghast that Yamamoto didn't break a hold at 1.
          - DQ came when Juan Francisco de Coronado ran out to attack Remington. Yamamoto kicked him in the head for it.
          - Post-match, Yamamoto and Remington shook hands. Remington gave him a fruit basket.

          8) King of Trios Quarterfinal - The Flood Elite def. The Colony
          - The Flood once again had Snow Troll chained up at ringside.
          - Worker Ant's knee was the target of the Flood's assault. But he and the Colony refused to go down.
          - Snow Troll grabbed Jacobs' leg at one point, and got beat down for it.
          - Worker hit Jacobs with the Rolling GTS, but before he could go for the pin, Snow Troll begged him to unchain him. Worker did so, but then Troll kept hugging his leg.
          - This distracted Worker and the ref, allowing Deucalion to come out with Soldier Ant. Soldier attacked the Colony, allowing Jacobs to capitalize, hit a finisher, and pick up the pin.

Post-match, Soldier disappeared, and the Colony were helped to the back. Deucalion remained on the stage, and the Flood all knelt before him. Just as Kingston (who was kneeling reluctantly?) did so, the GHM ran out and attacked. Hallowicked, the Batiri, and 3.0 all ran over to help out, but the Flood distracted them and took them out. In the ring, the GHM dogpiled on Deucalion, who shrugged them all off-- but Kid Cyclone managed to unmask him.

Deucalion is a bald man with all-black eyes. He was furious when he saw Cyclone, who looked terrified. Deucalion roared "COWARD?! COWARD!?" at him, and the Flood restrained him and Create-a-Wrestler II. Equinox III attacked, but got goozled immediately and choke-breakered to oblivion. Then the Flood fed him CAW II and he also got choke-breakered. They threatened to do the same to Cyclone, who ran away in terror.

The Flood left, triumphant, and Hallowicked was left in despair over two more of his students, fallen at the hands of the Titan of Titor.

As yesterday, I did a recap video for the Fan Conclave and Night 2.

            Night 3 recap

Teddy Hart's cat was spotted at the show. Unfortunately, so was Teddy Hart.

            1) KOT Semifinals - Golden Trio def. Flood Elite
            - Snow Troll was still chained up.
            - Icarus made Volgar tap to the Chikara Special. Golden Trio advances.
            - Post-match, Snow Troll got Icarus to unchain him... and then he low-blowed him.
            - The Flood laid out the Golden Trio, and then Troll willingly got chained back up. "Stockholm Syndrome" chants.

            2) KOT Semifinals - Devastation Corporation def. 3peck0
            - 3peck0 had face-paint on as well. Dev Corp & Bakabella were furious that they were stealing their gimmick.
            - 3peck0 got a triple Boston Crab on all three members of Dev Corp, but Bakabella pulled Bryce out of the ring.
            - Death Blow to Jagged. Dev Corp advances.

            3) Mark Andrews def. Sir Oliver Grimsly
            - No Kizarny or Qefka in sight.
            - Andrews won with a Shooting Star Press.

            4) Tag Team Gauntlet
            * Los Ice Creams def. Old Fashioned. Much antics surrounding the sprinkles. Junior poured out some sprinkles, but Fontaine swept them up with a push-broom. More sprinkles, and Jervis swept them up with a hand-brush and dustpan. Even more sprinkles, and Jervis came out with a vacuum cleaner. This let Los Ice Creams roll up Fontaine to get the first fall.
            * N_R_G def. Los Ice Creams. Hype Rockwell caught Hijo with a wind-up backbreaker for the fall.
            * Colony XTREME Force (Arctic Rescue Ant/Missile Assault Ant) def. N_R_G. Missile hit Hype with three rolling northern lights suplexes for the pin.
            * The Batiri def. Colony XTREME Force. Obariyon hit Missile with the Flying DDT for the pin.
            * The Osirian Portal def. The Batiri. The Portal tried to calm down the Batiri by assuring them they're not enemies, but it didn't work. Osirian Sacrament gives the Portal the pin.
            * The Osirian Portal def. The Bloc Party (Prakash Sabar/Proletariat Boar). Ophidian dodged a Boar Gore, which hit Sabar, allowing him to lock on the Death Grip to Sabar for the win.
            * The Osirian Portal def. The Colony (Silver Ant/Worker Ant). Amasis was hurt at some point prior to this, and had trouble getting back up in the Portal's corner. Ophidian got the pin on Silver with a bridging backslide. The Portal has three points.
            * The Osirian Portal def. The Dunne Brothers. The Dunnes were from Team UK. Amasis made it back to his feet long enough for him to hit Little Dunne with a 450 splash.
            * The Wrecking Crew (Jaka/Oleg the Usurper) def. The Osirian Portal. The Portal was exhausted by this point, and it showed. They even collapsed when they tried to go for a tandem dive. Even so, they would not stay down, and Jon Barber got taken out by mistake. Bryce tried to make it in the ring to count a pin, but didn't make it in time. Bakabella smacked Ophidian in the face with a roll of nickels to give the Wrecking Crew the win.

            Intermission.

            5) The Submission Squad def. The Gentleman's Club (Chuck Taylor, Orange Cassidy, Drew Gulak & The Swamp Monster)
            - When the Gentleman's Club came out, the place lost its collective mind.
            - This match was just hilarious from the get-go. Chuck Taylor brought the GRENADE to King of Trios!
            - The Squad hit Swampy with a flurry of finishers (Stunner, Rock Bottom, Atomic Legdrop, Ultimate Splash) to give them the victory.

            6) Rey de Voladores Finals - Shynron def. The Great Sanada
            - Sanada was once again heeling it up. Jon Barber caught on to his tactics, though, and called him on it. This redeemed him slightly in the eyes of the crowd.
            - Sanada sprayed RED MIST in Shynron's eyes and hit the superkick, but Shynron still kicked out.
            - Backflip cutter and the 2nd-rope 630 gives Shynron the Rey de Voladores. "You Deserve It" chants.

            7) King of Trios Finals - The Devastation Corporation def. The Golden Trio
            - This is an absolute war.
            - The Golden Trio brings back F.I.S.T.'s Shooty McGee, but it's not enough to put away Rumblecrunch.
            - Icarus became the first person (to my mind) to kick out of the Death Blow.
            - It's not enough. Dasher eats a TKO from Rumblecrunch and the Death Blow to give Dev Corp the win.

Post-match, the Flood came out en masse. (No sign of Deucalion.) They stand tall with Dev Corp-- but then CHIKARA LAUNCHES A COUNTERATTACK!

It wasn't enough. Kingston helped the Flood lay out all of them, and then Jacobs got on the mic. He told Icarus to hand over the Grand Championship belt, or they would destroy what was left of Chikara. Icarus was torn, but he handed over the belt... but he grabbed the mic and said the belt would be worthless if there is no Chikara. He asked Kingston, "Do you want to be worthy of that belt... or would you rather be the King of Ashes?"

KINGSTON TURNS ON THE FLOOD! Chikara fights back and they send the Flood into retreat. (No sign of Kid Cyclone.) Kingston hands Icarus the belt back, and tells him, "Keep it warm." Chikara shares a big group hug in the ring and the show closes out with Chikara standing tall.

As on nights 1 and 2, I made a recap video.

                Chikara News for October

9/30 - The return of the Young Lions Cup has been confirmed. Wrestling Is Fun!, Chikara's sister promotion, will be hosting the tournament this year. In order to be eligible for YLC contention, the wrestler must be under the age of 25. The YLC XI tournament will take place on October 11 and November 1, in Haverhill, MA and Norristown, PA. Confirmed contenders include Shynron, Marc Quen, N_R_G's Race Jaxon, Donovan Dijak, Anthony Greene, and Colony XTREME Force's Missile Assault Ant.

9/30 - Kid Cyclone has gone incommunicado since his humiliation and the crippling of his fellow Greenhorn Militia members at KOT Night 2. He has not responded to any attempts at communication.

9/30 - The main event of Chikara's Richmond debut has been confirmed. Flood field commander Jimmy Jacobs will cash in his shot at Icarus for the Grand Championship of Chikara.

9/30 - Another batch of YLC contenders was announced: 2014 rookie class member Argus, Rex Lawless, Kevin Quill, William Fredrick Kingsley, Devin Blaze, and the Bloc Party's Prakash Sabar.

10/1 - A match has been announced for Chikara's NC show, as Juan Francisco de Coronado will take on 'Smooth Sailin' Ashley Remington. Both men have one point toward Grand Championship contention, but only one will walk out with two!

10/3 - The first-round matches for the Young Lions Cup XI tournament have been announced for Wrestling Is Fun.

10/3 - The venue has been confirmed for the season finale, "Tomorrow Never Dies." For the first time since 2012, Chikara returns to the former ECW Arena in Philadelphia!

10/3 - Mike Quackenbush released a blog on ChikaraPro.com addressing the cripplings of so many wrestlers at the hands of Deucalion, blaming himself for holding people back and being too much a bystander to stop it, and stating he'll step back to let others lead the charge against the leader of the Flood.

10/7 - Jakob Hammermeier released a blog on ChikaraPro.com, putting to rest some fan questions about where he stands in the war with the Flood. Jakob is looking to take the "respekt" he felt he never got and states he doesn't need any "pity" from anyone. It definitely appears that Jakob is NOT on Chikara's side.

10/7 - At King of Trios' Tag Gauntlet, the Osirian Portal racked up an impressive series of wins over multiple teams, but wrestled to the point of exhaustion, when they became easy pickings for Sidney Bakabella's Wrecking Crew of Jaka & Oleg the Usurper. (That Bakabella himself smashed Ophidian in the face with a roll of nickels helped.) In North Carolina, the Portal looks to get their win back from Jaka & Oleg in tag-team action!

10/7 - After the finale of 2014's King of Trios, the "Mad King" Eddie Kingston responded to the words of Icarus and turned against the Flood, helping drive their forces off and, for the moment, saving Chikara once again. The Flood hasn't forgotten, and hasn't forgiven, as Jimmy Jacobs' disciple, Volgar will look to exact retribution in Richmond.

10/7 - Just because King of Trios has come and gone doesn't mean trios action is done with. Fan-favorites The Colony will go up against the Eastern European Bloc Party in Richmond.

10/9 - At "Thunderball" in North Carolina, the Bloc Party looks to add another notch to their belts when they take on former King of Trios champions The Spectral Envoy in trios action.

10/9 - "Moonraker" has added two atomicos matches to its already stacked card. In one, four of Sidney Bakabella's Wrecking Crew will take on the combined talents of The Osirian Portal & N_R_G.

10/9 - Also at "Moonraker," the other four-on-four match will be an atomicos increibles match, as partners will be on opposite teams. On one side, Dasher Hatfield, Ashley Remington, El Hijo del Ice Cream & Scott Parker. And on the other, Mr. Touchdown, Archibald Peck, Ice Cream Jr. & Shane Matthews.

10/9 - Further emphasizing how important "Moonraker" will be, Chikara released a trailer video to hype the show and its main event-- click here to see the video.

10/12 - Results are in from Night 1 of "Young Lions Cup XI" from Wrestling Is Fun. Shynron, Prakash Sabar, Donovan Dijak, Rex Lawless, Missile Assault Ant and Race Jaxon advanced over William Fredrick Kingsley, Kevin Quill, Devin Blaze, Anthony Greene, Argus and Marq Quen respectively. The Devastation Corporation defeated the Osirian Portal, and Missile Assault Ant won the 6-pack eliminator to advance to the next round of the YLC XI tournament. (Order of eliminations went Lawless by Dijak, Sabar by Shynron, Jaxon by Dijak, Dijak by Shynron, and Shynron by Missile Assault Ant.)

10/12 - The war with the Flood gets kicked up a notch in North Carolina, as an atomicos match has been booked, as Eddie Kingston joins forces with The Golden Trio to take on Jimmy Jacobs & The Flood in four-on-four action. No word, as usual, on what combination of Flood members we'll get.

10/15 - More names have been announced for the Young Lions Cup XI tournament hosted by Wrestling Is Fun, as it now appears that Night 1 was just part of the opening round of the tournament, with the second half of the opening round taking place on Night 2. Those three participants include Ring of Honor's Cheeseburger, Malice from LUDUS, and WIF's Princess Kimberlee.

10/15 - A tag-team match has been announced for "Thunderball" in North Carolina. The Colony's Fire Ant & Worker Ant will go up against two-thirds of the 2014 King of Trios champions The Devastation Corporation, in the form of Max Smashmaster & Blaster McMassive.

10/15 - An old rivalry comes back at "Moonraker" in Richmond, VA when Die BDK, now under the leadership of Jakob Hammermeier, collides with The Spectral Envoy. What makes this interesting is the match is billed as a trios match, but it's not yet clear who the third member of the BDK trio will be. Tursas was destroyed by the Estonian Thunderfrog, and Jakob has seemingly exiled Ares from the Bruderschaft. Will Milo Schnitzler suit up for action? Will an old BDK member make their return? Is the third man a brand new member we haven't seen? What role will the Eye of Tyr play?

10/16 - More names for Night 2 of Young Lions Cup XI have been announced. CWF Mid-Atlantic's Joe Black, ZERO-ONE U.S.A.'s Danny Cannon, from WIF's Bloc Party, The Proletariat Boar of Moldova, Valor Pro's Eddie Smooth, Ring of Honor's Will Ferrara, and from Chikara's Colony XTREME Force, Arctic Rescue Ant.

10/16 - Earlier this week, Worker Ant posted a blog talking about his membership in the Colony and about the 2011 King of Trios medals that they won back from the Colony XTREME Force in May. Worker Ant noted that he never put the medal on, because he never won it and it belonged instead to Soldier Ant, who is now a member of The Flood. Worker Ant made it clear that he's coming for the turncoat.

10/16 - In another blog, the illustrious Sidney Bakabella gloated about the Wrecking Crew's dominance at King of Trios weekend-- while spinning facts about Oleg the Usurper & Jaka's Tag Gauntlet win-- and revealed that Jaka will not be able to make it to the October shows, but that he, Bakabella, has a back-up plan.

10/21 - The Young Lions Cup XI Night 2 field has been filled with the addition of Heidi Lovelace, Adam Page, and J.T. Dunn. In addition to the YLC XI Qualifiers and the 6-Way Eliminator at the show, there will be a four-on-four non-tournament match, as The Throwbacks & N_R_G will take on the combined forces of Juan Francisco de Coronado, El Hijo del Ice Cream & The Bloc Party's Mr. Azerbaijan & Prakash Sabar.

10/21 - Chikara's "Thunderball" card has been finalized with the addition of two more matches. First, it will be a clash of styles as The Colony's submissions expert Silver Ant will take on the 2014 Rey de Voladores Shynron. Second, tag-team action as 3.0's Shane Matthews & Scott Parker take on The Aftermath, the team of Chet Sterling and North Carolina's own Trevor Lee.

10/21 - Chikara's "Moonraker" card has also been finalized with a singles match that deals with some fallout from the YLC XI Night 1 6-Way Eliminator. In the closing moments of the match, Missile Assault Ant of the Colony XTREME Force eliminated Shynron to advance to the finals. Now the high-flying "Spirit Dragon" looks to collide with the ballistic brute for retribution.

10/21 - It hasn't been officially announced, but it appears that the Chikara Season 14 Finale, "Tomorrow Never Dies" at the former ECW Arena in Philadelphia may be an iPPV. A poll went up on the Chikara 101 forums asking if fans wanted the show to be an iPPV. The results so far have been overwhelmingly "yes."

                  Chikara October Results!
(Note: This post may be edited as more details become available.)

                  "Thunderball" - Gibsonville, NC
                  1. The Spectral Envoy def. The Bloc Party when Hallowicked hit Mr. Azerbaijan with the Rydeen bomb.

                  2. 3.0 def. The Aftermath when Shane Matthews tapped Chet Sterling to Da Boston Crab. This was a "magic move" match, and the move was a body slam. 3.0 now have three points.

                  3. Ashley Remington def. Juan Francisco de Coronado with a high-angle German suplex.

                  4. The Osirian Portal def. The Wrecking Crew with the Osirian Sacrament on Oleg the Usurper. Jaka's replacement was Flex Rumblecrunch. Oleg's difficulties with the rest of Bakabella's Wrecking Crew continue. Flex hates him. Oleg had trouble setting up the Death Blow.

                  5. The Devastation Corporation def. The Colony with the Death Blow on Fire Ant. Worker Ant took most of the offense for his team.

                  6. Silver Ant def. Shynron with the Leaf-Cutter. Said to be a great match.

                  7. The Golden Trio & Eddie Kingston def. The Flood when Icarus caught Jacobs with a roll-up off an evaded spear. The Flood team was Jacobs, 17, Jakob Hammermeier, and Nøkken. They had the Snow Troll with them, and Jacobs came out with Kid Cyclone's cape as a trophy. During the match, the Golden Trio would not tag in Kingston, who eventually made it in and tore through the Flood until running into Nøkken. Kingston also accidentally caught Icarus with the Backfist to the Future, but took the bullet for Icarus, setting up the finish. Post-match, The Flood beat down the tecnicos, and Jacobs said he would take the Grand Championship tomorrow as his war trophy. The Golden Trio left without Kingston after the match.

                  "Moonraker" - Richmond, VA

                  1. Shynron def. Missile Assault Ant with a second-rope 630 splash.

                  2. Team Touchdown def. Team Hatfield in atomicos increibles when referee Bryce Remsburg pinned El Hijo del Ice Cream. Described as completely ludicrous and hilariously fun.

                  3. Die BDK def. The Spectral Envoy when Jakob hit Frightmare with a KO forearm. Delirious was the third man, and Jakob gave him the Eye of Tyr.

                  4. Eddie Kingston def. Volgar with the Backfist to the Future. Jimmy Jacobs came out with Volgar and interfered in the match.

Post-match, a brawl broke out, and Deucalion emerged. Dasher Hatfield tried to fight him, and failed, and Shynron was thrown some 10-15 feet up the entrance stage. Deucalion tried to destroy Gavin Loudspeaker, but Archibald Peck saved him. In retaliation for it, Deucalion destroyed Archie with the choke-breaker. This cast a major pall over the venue throughout intermission.

                  5. The Wrecking Crew def. The Osirian Portal & N_R_G, but no details are available yet.

                  6. The Colony def. The Bloc Party with the Ant Hill on Prakash Sabar.

                  7. Icarus def. Jimmy Jacobs by tapping him to the Chikara Special to retain the Grand Championship of Chikara.

Post-match, Deucalion emerged again, and the entire Chikara roster came out to confront him. Deucalion asks if they're happy now, and tells them their heroes aren't coming back, reminding them of the demises of Thunderfrog and Peck and others, and they're dead "because you wanted Chikara back. ARE YOU HAPPY NOW?! In war, there are casualties... aren't there, Jimmy?" He went to destroy Jimmy Jacobs for his failure, but Icarus saved him by spearing Deucalion. Deucalion left with a grin on his face, and Jacobs ran away, confused. The roster celebrated with Icarus.

                    News Updates
I've been remiss in not updating this thread for anyone that's actually reading it. This weekend is Chikara's trip to the Northeast in New England. I won't run down the matches this weekend, because it's too late for that, but there have been some updates to cover.

The second stage of the Young Lions Cup XI tournament took place at Wrestling Is Fun! The 6-way eliminator featured Heidi Lovelace, Princess Kimberlee, the Proletariat Boar of Moldova, Arctic Rescue Ant, and Will Ferrara. Heidi won the match, last eliminating Kimberlee by tapping her to the Chikara Special. Further details aren't available, but Tripp Cassidy had to sub in for Danny Cannon during the tournament. Heidi will face Missile Assault Ant in the finals in December.

A number of blogs were posted to ChikaraPro.com since my last update. Mr. Azerbaijan revealed that the Bloc Party are stuck in the US, unable to return home, because the Polar Baron, when he left the country in disgrace, took their travel documents with them, making the Bloc Party essentially outlaws in the USA. Gavin Loudspeaker poured his heart out about the sacrifice that Archibald Peck made to save his life from Deucalion. Eddie Kingston unleashed some vitriol toward Jimmy Jacobs and the Flood, calling them a cancer. Dasher Hatfield said Kingston's road to redemption won't be easy, but also held out hope that the Flood can be beaten. Shane Matthews made it clear that everyone in the Chikara locker room is gunning for the Flood now.

The next post will contain results from the November shows, and the post after that will be for updates leading up to the Season Finale show on December 6th.

                    • Chikara November Results!
(Further details to come as they become available.)

"On Her Majesty's Secret Service" - Nov. 15, Haverhill, MA
                      1. Die BDK & Sir Oliver Grimsley def. 3.Cheerio when Jakob Hammermeier hit Jervis Cottonbelly with his KO Punch. Die BDK was accompanied by Milo Schnitzler (who did ring announcing for them) and either Haack or Slaash. Milo screwed up Jakob's name during the outro, and got dragged to the back by Jakob and Nøkken.

                      2. Missile Assault Ant def. Princess Kimberlee with a roaring uppercut to an airborne Kimberlee.

                      3. Worker Ant def. Prakash Sabar with a discus lariat. This was a "magic move" match, and the magic move was a clothesline. Everyone won a sticker.

                      4. The Spectral Envoy & The Batiri def. The Flood. The Flood team was GEKIDO (17 & The Shard), Jimmy Jacobs, Volgar, and Deucalion! This was Deucalion's first official match. Reports are that he did not do much, and much of his offense seemed Bane-inspired. Frightmare rolled up Shard to win the match for the Chikara team.

Post-match, Deucalion was furious and tried to destroy Frightmare, but 17 jumped in the ring and hit a running Shotei Palm Strike to stun Deucalion. Frightmare retreated and 17 ran out of the building. Deucalion was about to destroy Jacobs for this treachery, but Jacobs pleaded for his life and managed to divert the Titan of Titor's attention to The Shard, who was destroyed with the choke-breaker.

Shortly after this, Chikara tweeted out a link to this picture-- that's 17's mask. 17 has unmasked himself and is still at large.

                      5. Shynron def. The Proletariat Boar of Moldova with the second-rope 630.

                      6. Juan Francisco de Coronado def. Ashley Remington with a German Suplex and his feet on the ropes. Post-match, JFDC brought out a fruit basket for Remington, but then attacked him with it.

                      7. Sidney Bakabella's Wrecking Crew def. The Golden Trio & The Osirian Portal when Max Smashmaster hit Dasher Hatfield with the Death Blow.

"For Your Eyes Only" - Nov. 16, South Windsor, CT
                      1. Devastation Corporation def. The Batiri, The Bloc Party, Ashley Remington & Jervis Cottonbelly in four-corners elimination tag to earn their third point. The Bloc Party eliminated Remington/Jervis first. Then the Batiri eliminated the Bloc Party, and finally Dev Corp eliminated the Batiri to pick up the win.

                      2. Hallowicked def. Worker Ant. Post-match, Soldier Ant attacked Worker Ant, and apparently hurt Big Blue's knee.

                      3. Nøkken def. Shynron after interference from Jakob Hammermeier. Post-match, Milo Schnitzler was ousted and Haack unmasked to reveal a returning Pinkie Sanchez, who had been part of the original BDK.

Before the next match, Jimmy Jacobs came out with the masks of the fallen as trophies. Icarus interrupted and called out Deucalion, who came out to face him. Icarus challenged him to a match at the Season Finale. Deucalion accepted.

                      4. The Osirian Portal def. The Wrecking Crew with the Pyramid-plex on Oleg the Usurper. Sidney Bakabella attempted interference again with a roll of nickels, but it was not enough. Post-match, Bakabella and Jaka yell at Oleg, who is getting chants from the crowd.

After intermission, we're informed that Delirious is not here tonight.

                      5. Eddie Kingston def. Snow Troll with three powerbombs and a Backfist to the Future. Snow Troll was accompanied by Jimmy Jacobs and Volgar. Snow Troll got zero offense in.

Post-match, Kingston demanded to fight Jacobs, leading to a brawl, during which Jacobs hit a spear. This brought out UltraMantis Black, leading into the next match.

                      6. Jimmy Jacobs def. UltraMantis Black with a spear after Snow Troll grabbed Mantis' leg.

                      7. Frightmare def. Juan Francisco de Coronado with a body-scissors roll-up after Bryce Remsburg caught JFDC's feet on the ropes after a German Suplex. Post-match, JFDC hits Frightmare with a series of German Suplexes, but Ashley Remington makes the save.

                      8. The Throwbacks vs 3.0 for the Campeonatos de Parejas.
                      - 1st Fall: Dasher Hatfield pins Scott Parker after a 3D.
                      - 2nd Fall: Dasher Hatfield pins Shane Matthews after a 3D, barely two minutes after the first fall. 3.0 seemed to get frustrated after the first fall and turned heelish.

Post-match, 3.0 left without shaking the Throwbacks' hands. Devastation Corporation came out to talk trash.

                      • "Tomorrow Never Dies"
Dec. 6th - 2300 Arena, Philadelphia, PA - Also available on iPPV

                        Main Event Steel Cage Match
                        Icarus vs Deucalion
In the end, it could only have come to this.

On one side, the man who spearheaded the campaign to bring Chikara back from the ashes, who redeemed himself in the eyes of the fans and the world by burying the past and trying to retake their future, the winged ring warrior who rallied an army and claimed the Grand Championship of Chikara, Icarus. When the company died, Icarus refused to let it lie. He traveled the country to find his former friends and allies, tried to convince them to join him. He saw the coming of the Flood, realized that if they didn't band together, then everything they had fought, bled, sweated, and wept for would be washed away. He is the rallying force of the locker room and the symbol of Chikara's return.

On the other side, a man forged in the fires of war. A ruthless force of destruction and indomitable power. A terrible murder machine leading an army bent on nothing less than the annihilation of Chikara and everything it stands for. "The Titan of Titor," Deucalion has been personally responsible for the demises of eight men that we know of, and possibly countless more. His past is a mystery, his motives are unclear, but his goal is known and it is horrifying. He is antithesis to everything that Icarus is, desiring to see everything that he's built reduced to ashes.

There is nothing on the line, but the very future of Chikara. Icarus has done the impossible and it has made him mighty, but can even he overcome the unstoppable force of Deucalion?

                        Cibernetico Royale
The Chikara Squad vs The Flood Squad
(Worker Ant, Silver Ant, Fire Ant, Obariyon, Kodama, Amasis, Ophidian, Jervis Cottonbelly vs Jakob Hammermeier, Nøkken, Flex Rumblecrunch, Oleg the Usurper, Jaka, Sir Oliver Grimsly, Volgar, Soldier Ant)
An autumn staple of Chikara, the torneo cibernetico is a "circuit match" that was first done in Mexican lucha libre. The gist is that it is an elimination tag match, but one cannot tag in any partner one chooses. One must tag out in sequence. Wrestler A tags Wrestler B, who tags Wrestler C, and so on. When Wrestler B gets eliminated, Wrestler A would tag in Wrestler C, etc. The match continues until there is a single winner, so if all of Team 1 is eliminated, the remaining members of Team 2 wrestle against each other until one wrestler remains.

As expected, the match will pit an eight-man squad representing Chikara against an eight-man squad representing The Flood. Full rosters for the respective squads have not been revealed, but Jakob Hammermeier has been announced as the captain of The Flood Squad, and Worker Ant from the Colony has been announced as the captain of the Chikara Squad.

It has been confirmed by team captain Worker Ant that the Chikara Squad will be comprised of his fellow Colony brethren Silver Ant & Fire Ant, The Batiri's Obariyon & Kodama, The Osirian Portal's Amasis & Ophidian, and British gentleman Jervis Cottonbelly. In response, team captain Jakob Hammermeier revealed his Flood Squad. At his side will be his personal monster Nøkken, and he has on loan members of Sidney Bakabella's stable of destroyers, with one-third of the 2014 King of Trios Flex Rumblecrunch, and the Tag Gauntlet champions from the Wrecking Crew Oleg the Usurper & Jaka. In addition, he has the Odditorium's Sir Oliver Grimsly, Jimmy Jacob's right hand Volgar, and finally the dispossessed Colony member Soldier Ant, who is looking to cripple the Colony himself.

Can someone from the Chikara Squad vanquish the company's greatest threat? Or will someone from The Flood Squad wash away the stalwart defenders?

                        Loser Leaves Chikara
                        UltraMantis Black vs Delirious
Four years ago, a still-villainous UltraMantis Black was desperate to increase the power of his Order of the Neo-Solar Temple, to take over Chikara and rule over it with an iron fist. To that end, he sought out the mystical Eye of Tyr-- a cursed artifact with the ability to enthrall the minds of others-- and used it to exact revenge on long-time rival Hallowicked. He did this by taking away 'Wicked's tag-team partner, Delirious, turning the crazed lizard-face into a loyal "perfect weapon."

A year later, the BDK had invaded and taken the Eye of Tyr from Mantis, and then used it to bring Delirious over to their cause, turning him into their pet attack dog. Joining forces with the Chikara faithful, Mantis helped vanquish the BDK, driving them off for a time and reclaiming the Eye of Tyr, and using it to clear Delirious' mind. Unfortunately, he traded one enemy for another, as a now-lucid Delirious declared, "I remember everything!" and swore two years' worth of vengeance upon "Mantis Black," ominously stating, "2014 will be your end!" He has used any means at his disposal to get revenge on the man who stole two years of his life with hypnotized servitude-- the Batiri, Ophidian, and now The Flood-- but it has not been enough.

Time is running out on Delirious' proclamation, and he has one last chance to see his prophecy come true. The challenge has been made, accepted, and the match signed. Chikara isn't big enough for the both of them. One shall stand, one shall fall. The winner will have vanquished a nemesis. The loser will leave Chikara in disgrace.

Will the great and devious insect overlord win the day? Or will the deranged madman from the Edge of Sanity finally complete his revenge?

For the Campeonatos de Parejas - Best of Three Falls!
The Throwbacks defend vs The Devastation Corporation
Earlier this year, Chikara's tag-team belts, the Campeonatos de Parejas, were in the possession of the Pieces of Hate, Jigsaw & The Shard, and thus under The Flood's control. It wasn't long into the season, however, before a team arose to challenge them. Dasher Hatfield & Mr. Touchdown, the Throwbacks, accumulated the three points necessary for title contention and swiftly brought the belts home, and have been on a roll throughout the season, defending them against any contenders and helping lead the charge against The Flood's forces as two-thirds of the Golden Trio with Icarus.

But now a significant threat has arisen to their championship. The Devastation Corporation's Max Smashmaster & Blaster McMassive have recently earned their three points and wasted no time putting the champs on notice. The two towering titans of brawn and brutality are two-thirds of the 2014 King of Trios with their fellow Flex Rumblecrunch, and they chew up the competition and spit them out, flattening them with the devastating Death Blow. Their unrelenting strength is further augmented with the presence of their manager, Sidney Bakabella, who can focus them into a truly dangerous force to be reckoned with.

Can the Throwbacks survive the devastation to retain the titles? Or will the Devastation Corporation bring home more gold and fatten their envelope at the pay windah?

                        Grudge Match
                        Eddie Kingston vs Jimmy Jacobs
A year ago, Eddie Kingston was a king without a kingdom, a champion without a company. And yet, he appeared to have no problem with Chikara's demise, so long as he had 'Her'-- the Grand Championship of Chikara. Nothing else mattered to him, not Chikara's welfare, not the fact that its legacy was being threatened by forces beyond anything they'd faced before, not even the men he once called friends. And then, in May, at Chikara's return from the ashes, he lost 'Her' to Icarus, and the 'War King' became a man adrift. Bereft of the championship that had given his empty life meaning, Kingston became apathetic and fell prey to the mind games of a twisted sociopath.

Jimmy Jacobs, the field commander of The Flood and the harbinger of Deucalion, got into Kingston's head, insinuating that he knew why 'She' had left him and that he and The Flood could help him get 'Her' back. He successfully turned Kingston to The Flood's cause, even sacrificing one of his own acolytes to do so, and for a short while it appeared that having the 'Mad King' on their side would help The Flood destroy Chikara. Until Icarus forced him to realize that, without Chikara, the Grand Championship would be meaningless, and that Kingston would not be worthy of 'Her.' Confronted with how far he had fallen, Kingston returned to the fold and has been obsessed with driving back The Flood, with redeeming himself, not so much in the eyes of his peers, but in the eyes of 'Her.'

Will Eddie Kingston find his redemption in defeating The Flood's spokesman? Or will Jimmy Jacobs remove a major obstacle standing in the way of The Flood's onslaught?

                        German Suplex Match
"Smooth Sailin'" Ashley Remington vs Juan Francisco de Coronado
When Chikara returned in May, it welcomed to its roster two new names. From Ecuador comes the arrogant, entitled, bow-tie-wearing aristocrat Juan Francisco de Coronado. Having previously cut his teeth in Chikara's sister Wrestling Is companies, Coronado very quickly got under the skin of wrestling fans with his interminable and protracted ring entrances, set to a knockoff of the theme from Titanic. They drowned out his words with boos when they weren't actually leaving the venue to make a statement about how little they liked him.

The other person was "Smooth Sailin'" Ashley Remington, formerly Dalton Castle, who came into a sizable fortune with the death of his uncle, Lester 'Darkness' Crabtree. Charged with living in the lifestyle to which his new fortune entitles him, Remington changed his name and began sailing on yachts. Comporting himself like a gentleman, Remington plays it fair and by the rules, being polite and friendly to everyone, even giving his opponents a complimentary basket of fruit after their match.

The rivalry between the two started in September, when Coronado became incensed that Remington used a German suplex, which the Ecuadorian saw as "his" move. Remington's charm has not softened Coronado's tendencies toward cheating and taking shortcuts, and now the match has been made for the season finale. To definitively determine which of the two aristocrats is the master of the move, the match can only be won by a German suplex!

                        Young Lions Cup XI Finals
Missile Assault Ant vs Heidi Lovelace
The Young Lions Cup tournament is meant to showcase rising young talent on the independent scene. In order to be eligible for contention, you cannot have held the Cup previously and you must be under the age of 25. This year, the YLC tournament was hosted by Wrestling Is Fun in October and November.

The two finalists both won six-person eliminator matches to qualify. First, we have Missile Assault Ant from the Colony XTREME Force. The ballistic and highly vocal brawler used some underhanded techniques to ensure his victory, and will undoubtedly lord it over everyone while shouting his name incessantly. Second, we have Heidi Lovelace out of the Midwest. Heidi is no stranger to mixing it up with men, and was a contender for Wrestling Is Heart's La Copa Idola trophy-- and on the verge of winning it!-- before it was destroyed at National Pro Wrestling Day 2014.

Can Heidi Lovelace pick up that big win that has eluded her? Or will Missile Assault Ant blitz his way into a championship reign?

                        • The card for Chikara's 2014 season finale has been effectively finalized. Many high-profile matches have been signed, including--

                          * A match between Ashley Remington and Juan Francisco de Coronado, which can only be won via German suplex.

                          * A bitter grudge match between Eddie Kingston and Jimmy Jacobs.

                          * A best-of-three falls match in which the Throwbacks will defend the Campeonatos de Parejas against the Devastation Corporation.

                            • I treated myself for my birthday and went to the show. However, I made a poor choice in leaving behind my umbrella. It was pouring out and my jacket and hat got soaked standing in line. My shirt underneath was mildly damp, but wet enough that I bought a t-shirt and a Chikara knit cap to keep from getting sick.

                              Pretty decent crowd.

                              1. Pre-show: Wrestling is Fun presents - Young Lions Cup XI Finals - Heidi Lovelace def. Missile Assault Ant to win the YLC trophy. Missile was accompanied by the rest of the Colony Xtreme Force, and the crowd really enjoys shouting his name along with him. ("MISSILE! ASSAULT! ANT!") Heidi would not stay down and won after wiping out the rest of the CXF with a dive from the top, then caught Missile with a kneeling rana for the pin. Heidi is the first female Young Lions Cup champion.

                              2. Match Can Only Be Won With a German Suplex - Ashley Remington def. Juan Francisco de Coronado. JFDC, in a game of oneupsmanship with Remington, came out first accompanied by two ladies in outfits that looked like they'd been vomited on by Wonderland and Beadazzled. Remington topped this by coming out with four Ashley's Angels. Both men tried to go for the win without using a German Suplex-- Remington hit the Fair Winds for a pin attempt, and JFDC locked in the Coronado Clutch. Remington finally got the win with a German Suplex from in the ring while JFDC started on the apron.

                              3. Grudge Match - Eddie Kingston def. Jimmy Jacobs after two Backfists to the Future. Jacobs was accompanied by Volgar and the Lithuanian Snow Troll. Kingston ended up taking them both out with backfists. Kingston kept egging Jacobs on and absorbed a lot of punishment, but finally picked up the win.

Post-match, Kid Cyclone ran out and attacked Kingston with a pipe wrench. He cut a promo pretty much denouncing Chikara's traditions and stated he'd never wanted to be part of a militia, never wanted to fight monsters, and never wanted to wear a mask. He unmasked and declared that his name was Kevin Condron (I think, it was hard to hear exactly) and that if anyone followed him, he'd use them up and eat them alive if he was starving. He freed the Snow Troll and left him the pipe wrench. Snow Troll followed him out.

                              4. Campeonatos de Parejas Best of Three Falls Match - The Devastation Corporation def. The Throwbacks 2-1 to become the new Campeones de Parejas. Dev Corp, of course, was accompanied by Sidney Bakabella. Dev Corp dominated most of the match. Both Throwbacks got 'injured' by the Death Blow, and Dev Corp tried to keep Mr. Touchdown in the ring to work him over. The final fall happened after the Throwbacks got distracted by the interference of Bakabella. Touchdown grabbed him by the hair-- and it was revealed it was a wig, and Bakabella is bald!
                              - 1st fall: Max Smashmaster pinned Mr. Touchdown with the Death Blow.
                              - 2nd fall: Mr. Touchdown caught Blaster McMassive with a Majistral Cradle.
                              - 3rd fall: Blaster McMassive pinned Mr. Touchdown after an elevated elbow drop/back suplex combo.

                              5. Loser Leaves Chikara - UltraMantis Black def. Delirious with the Praying Mantis Bomb. Delirious was absolutely covered in body paint and looked fucking terrifying. It was a war and toward the end referee Jon Barber got knocked out. Cue the arrival of Derek Sabato, noted jerk and used car salesman, who took over ref duties. Sabato played it fair, however.

After the match, Hallowicked and Frightmare came out to celebrate with Mantis. Then Delirious pulled out the Eye of Tyr and used it on Wicked. When he did so, Frightmare started freaking out, clutching his head. Then Wicked screamed "MANTIS!" and kicked him in the face, knocking him down, and causing Frightmare to collapse as well. Wicked left, called for Frightmare to follow, which he did, staggering. Mantis was left alone, and Delirious departed, laughing in triumph.

                              6. 10th Annual Torneo Cibernetico - Flood Squad's Soldier Ant wins, last eliminating Fire Ant. Soldier Ant's mask has a silver eye panel and a silver 'scar' running across the face, as well as the missing antenna. His gear's Colony logo is missing an antenna and has a scar as well, along with bullet hole designs. Throughout the match, he was no-selling a lot of offense, to the point that Jakob Hammermeier called him a "machine." I'm a bit vague on some of the moves for eliminations.
                              Elimination order:
                              - Jaka (Flood)
                              - Volgar (Flood) after the Skull Bronzing from the Batiri.
                              - Kodama (Chikara) after a Buckle Bomb and Liger Bomb from Rumblecrunch.
                              - Jervis Cottonbelly (Chikara) after a KO Forearm from Soldier Ant.
                              - Amasis (Chikara) after a butterfly brainbuster and Tiger Driver from Nokken.
                              - Oleg the Usurper (Flood)
                              - Sir Oliver Grimsly (Flood)
                              - Worker Ant (Chikara) taps to a nasty leg submission from Soldier Ant.

                              - Flex Rumblecrunch (Flood) after a quesadora prawn hold from Fire Ant.
                              - Silver Ant (Chikara) after a KO Punch from Jakob Hammeremeier.
                              - Jakob Hammermeier (Flood) after a Beachbreak from Fire Ant.
                              - Fire Ant (Chikara) after a chokeslam from Soldier Ant.

                              Intermission.

                              7. Main Event Steel Cage Match - Icarus def. Deucalion with the Chikara Special. Deucalion came out to no music and carrying the masks of the men he'd executed this past year. Icarus came out with the Hammer of Peace-- the Estonian Thunderfrog's Mjolnir. The sight of the Hammer alone was enough to give the fans some hope, until Icarus left it outside the ring. Deucalion was a goddamn beast, but Icarus would not be denied. Deucalion was not pleased at one near-fall and threatened Bryce Remsburg, but Icarus jumped on his back to save the referee. Toward the end of the match, the Chikara locker room emptied out to cheer on Icarus. Icarus finally locked on the Chikara Special to force the tap out.

Post-match, Deucalion recovered quickly and bellowed for the Flood to come out. They did so, but Jimmy Jacobs held them back. Behind Deucalion, Icarus climbed the cage and the Chikara roster all had to work in unison to lift the Hammer of Peace to give it to Icarus. Jacobs warned the Flood about Deucalion, "This man will kill us all if he gets the chance. Deucalion, you made your bed-- now die in it!" Deucalion turned around into a top-rope Hammer of Peace blow to the head, destroying the Titan of Titor.
