  • The Great Tooth Saga Update.

First part of the Saga in Epic length and detail here: http://www.customerssuck.com/board/s...t=86465&page=2

When last we heard from our dashing hero he was having his stitches out.

well I had to remove one of the stitches myself as it had worked it's way loose but that was not big deal. The doctor removed the stitches gave me more mouthwash and sent me on my way.

I had my regular checkup on the 14th where they decided to send me to a root canal specialist here in town. No cavities at least.

So I had moved my followup appointment back one day and scheduled my consultation for the root canal specialist the same day an hour and 10 minutes sooner.

Which was today. so I first went to see the root canal specialist which was an experience all by itself, they give out a pamphlet on anxiety with dental appointments and using sedatives meanwhile just the office is a sedative, waterfall fountains, soothing music, fake fireplace, massaging dental chair. so after a procedure involving a q-tip, an icecube, and a piece of rubber (I am not making this up) as well as a couple x-rays they determine that the front tooth, the one that was operated on needs a root canal. I saw the x-ray and from the lump/bubble which I now know is called a fissure goes right to it as well. However good news is the original root canal is perfectly fine. so I schedule the root canal for march 8th, it will require me to start taking antibiotics 2 days before, she will only put in a temporary filling and the dentist will later put in a proper one and I have to have 2 followups 1 a couple weeks after and one 6 months later.

next I see the periodontist to followup on my surgery (I accidently said orthodontist before), he says it's healing well and I'll be back in two weeks for another followup.

Root Canal A: $560 (360 covered by benefits)
Surgery: $1540 ($340 covered by benefits)
Second Root Canal: $755 (we'll see)
Today's visit with Root Canal Specialist: $176 (120 covered by benefits)
Regular checkup and prescriptions for all this mess I don't know.

    Choose your own punchline: Priceless.
Interviewer: What is your greatest weakness?
Me: I expect competence from my coworkers.
