Wow. Just got done with this "lady", and boy it was interesting, and funny, to say the least.

It starts when Lazy Ass comes over to the restaurant, and says a lady claimed there were coffee grounds in the coffee she got yesterday. Since it was near the end of the day, and it was going to be thrown out anyway, I said give her one.

I go out into the eating area to start collecting the ketchup bottles, and she spots me through the door, and calls me over.

She claims she came in yesterday, and said she ordered 6 sandwiches, and had problems with the ketchup on them.

Oh, really. FYI the sandwiches only come with mustard onions and pickles on them, unless ordered otherwise. Ketchup doesn't come on them standard.

I inform her that they only come with MOP on them.

She changes her tune. She starts again by saying that she has problems with onions. Several medical conditions she can't have them (I wish I remember what ones she cited. My BS alarm was going off too loud to remember). Ok. I tell her I'll check the journal to see if this was ordered. I ask her about what time she was in, yesterday. Another aside I was working all day yesterday, and she wasn't in, but didn't tell her that.

She says her husband was in in the afternoon. BS alarm sounds louder, but to placate her, I go through the journal. I look at EVERY order yesterday. There was no 6 sandwich order yesterday. She starts by saying how moral she is, and just came from church, and how she wouldn't lie.

I check again, just to be sure. Surprise surprise. No order. I say without a receipt, or without the sandwiches, I can't do anything. While I was looking, she was asking me about the former owners (from 30 years ago ), asking how they were, and dropping their names. I told her they died 20 years ago.

She leaves, but says she'll get the receipt out of the trash.

Oh, btw, she needed LA to get her her coffee, that she claimed she got yesterday. She couldn't work the coffee machine. Also, LA worked all afternoon yesterday, and has never seen her in his life.

I hope she comes in again and tries this again. It was fun. I hope she tries to pull "get me the owner" bit. That will really be fun.

The MOP part made me , all I could think of off the top of my head for the Coffee grounds was "You dont say!"

Next time, tell her that its quite a delicacy to have coffee that is thick like that.

@ "You don't say!" I should adopt that as my standard reaction to every trivial concern.
