This happened at 4pm, when most people are still heading home from work and school.
My dad actually got caught out in it. He was luckily in his 4WD, but saw several abandoned cars floating down the road on his way home.
Just to point out, Perth has just come out of summer and is always in drought mode.
The last storm that I can remember that was as bad as this was in 1994.
