Top 10 list of actors who play the best of the best of the bad guys

  • #2
Wow, I'm surprised they picked a list of really good, talented actors. I was expecting to see Denzels and Will Smiths.

One guy I think played a great bad guy was Dennis Hopper in Speed. I was watching that movie the other day and he did such a great job as the arrogant, intelligent, sadistic bad guy that I was almost rooting for him to blow up Keanu Reeves.

You beat me to it... I just love his cold eyed psycopathic characters... with the subtle hint of dark humour as is found in some of his movies

Just when I was getting used to yesterday, along came today.

Dennis Hopper is an even better villain in "Blue Velvet"...yeah.

Alan Rickman is a great bad guy. He always seems so....gleeful about it.

I never thought of Sean Bean or Max von Sydow as villains! I guess I am out of the loop.

Christopher Walken should be on it. And they forgot to mention Rickman's superb Sheriff of Nottingham. "I'll cut your heart out with a spoon!"

Goes along with Eddie Izzard's theory that British actors have to play bad guys in Hollywood movies because of the American Revolution.

ETA: I realize they were going with actors who've made a career out of playing baddies, but some classic villains were left off the list, especially Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lecter. Or, if you wanna go a bit esoteric, John Goodman in Cohen Bros. movies, especially Barton Fink. *shudder* Oh, and let us not forget the best film baddie in recent history, Javier Barden as Anton Chigurh in No Country for Old Men. Creeeeeepy

Yes, he has. He played good guys in The Deer Hunter and The Dead Zone. He's also marvelously funny; watch some of his clips from Saturday Night Live.

                          and i'm surprised...
                          no mention of Ralph Fiennes?

The evil Amon Goeth in Schindler's List, Francis Dolarhyde in Red Dragon, Voldemort

he's very very good at playing evil men
