  • Anyone recall which TV show this is from?

I think it was in the 80's or early 90's.

The only thing I remember from this one episode is this:

The main character (a woman) was in prison, I believe. She wanted to escape, and happened to befriend the guy who made (I think) the caskets and buried the people who died.

Anyway, the guy tells her to wait until the bells toll, then go climb into the open casket and close the lid. He tells her that he will bury her, then after a few hours come back and dig her up so she can escape.

Well, she hears the bells toll, climbs into the casket, and gets buried. She strikes a match and finds out that she's in the casket with the guy who was supposed to dig her up. HE is the one who died...the woman screams as the camera cuts to a shot and pan up over the grave...

    Anybody remember that??

      Figures it'd be a Hitchcock movie ...

I got the cold creepies (opposite of the warm fuzzies) just reading your description of it!

I found a YouTube of the episode. I'll put it up in Check This Out.

This was such a big fear in the 18th and 19th century (I'm assuming before medical science had comas figured out) that they'd rig plots with bells so you could ring if you "came back."
