  • So what's the equivalent of Maxim?

Amongst all the TIME and Fortune and People magazines, we do receive Maxim at the workplace. The only problem I have here is we don't' get anything for da ladies (and occasional gay guy).

So, anyone know if there's a similar magazine aimed toward female readers with lots of half-nekkid guys? Might as well put in a request. For gender equality and blahdah.

Not as much as you might think... Usually, one half-naked guy an issue.

Yeah, it's mostly sex tips and models that make the average female feel inadequate.

Joe Weider's Muscle & Fitness aka Muscle & Fitness. It's a bodybuilding mag, so mostly really muscular men in shorts.

Apparently, the equivalent of Maxim is Electronic Gaming Monthly--or at least, Maxim is what they started sending me after EGM got cancelled. Not thrilled with this turn of events as the articles are pretty shallow locker room humor and I don't find seeing a woman's floating ribs through her skin all that attractive.

How about seeing all of the glorious definition of a woman's sternum through her skin? Blech!

                I'm a girl.

                I love Maxim.

I especially love the Jennier Love Hewitt Maxim magazines. She's completely hawt!

The Olivia Wilde one (which I just got) - not too good. She's over-rated.

                I like locker room jokes.

                That is all.

Cosmo's prolly the closest we have. Some issues have inserts with gorgeous men in shorts in them, others do not. I used to read Cosmo all the time but, I hated how every issue is so sex focused.....I don't need to be told how to keep a man happy in bed, but thanx anyways Either way, I think Cosmo's the closest...
Sorry, my love cannot be bought. And if it could, you obviously don't have enough in your account to do so.

Maxim catches too much flak from those who never read one. There's maybe 2-3 articles on one woman each with a couple pictures. The majority of the magazine is articles. Jokes, weird news, upcoming movies, CDs, video games, sex advice, places to check out, etc. etc. Being an avid reader, I'd say the opposite of Maxim is easily Cosmo. Maxim isn't Playboy. Playboy is the one with craploads of pictures. Maxim not so much.

I sent the publisher an email today, explaining that I was not 19 years old, male, pimply or a virgin, and I would really appreciate a different magazine to make up for my subscription to EGM. I sent it to late for them to respond today, so I'll let you know if they even bother to write back.
