I need more info
This did happen at work, and I was kind of involved, but really it happened to a coworker. Now, he is new, but I've worked with him a few times and gathered that he is well-mannered, a bit on the quiet side, but friendly when anyone talks to him. If you look at his eyes you can tell he's observant and intelligent. I've rarely seen anyone as easy-going and outwardly humble as him. I was at the service desk when one of our repeat offenders--though I didn't realize at the time she was a problem child--came up to me and told me the cashier on lane whatever needed a break. My immediate thought was that someone out there was having a physical issue and she was trying to help. I asked why. She said he was "sort of rude". I asked if something happened and she had no answer, just kept talking about a break as she walked away. Okay, if you have a complaint, at least substantiate it. I looked over to see who the cashier was and it was the new guy. Our supervisor had happened to walk up at the tail-end and I said to him that I'd never seen new guy be rude, and that at this point I realized why I recognized this lady: she complains about everything. In fact, supervisor used those exact words to describe her. She complains and doesn't substantiate, and we recognize her as a whiner. Get a life, lady. Whatever. As new guy was leaving, I told him why he shouldn't be concerned at all and he thanked me.
