It took 6 months, my unemployment running out, and dozens of interviews but I finally have a job. I'm cautiously optimistic. They seem like nice and respectful people, and so far I like them. You would think I would be happy but I am much more relieved than happy. I'm an administrative assistant in a hotel at probably the highest wage I've ever earned though it's still not as high as I want. After that amount of time, I'd have accepted $10 an hour just to have a job. This one is $13 an hour, and eventually I will get benefits like health care, vacation time, a 401k, etc. Since it's only been a week, I have to say "we will see". I've been back stabbed so often since moving here that I'm.... leery.
