I finally had the time to put together a little "double dedication" video primarily for the pioneer dog actors.
They are:
Jean a.k.a. the Vitagraph Dog (border collie) - the video clips are from "A Sailor's Sacrifice" (1907)
Strongheart (German Shepherd, black and white film) - the clips are from "The Return of Boston Blackie" (1927) - thought to be the only Strongheart film that is still around today.
The original Rin Tin Tin (German Shepherd, sepia like film coloring) - these clips are from "The Hills of Kentucky" (1927) - I actually pulled these clips from the 8mm film itself.
Enjoy!

* the second GSD in the Rin Tin Tin films (lighter) is Nanette II
** Anyone want to guess at what the "double" part of the double dedication is?
