another good argument was something i saw on the "Hardcore Pawn" clips... since laws forbid cameras in the toilets they're afraid customers would take advantage of the lack of video coverage to steal.

Most of the time, I don't mind letting customers use the restroom. I'd rather let them use ours than have a mess on the floor I have to clean up. However, as others have noted, we have a tiny backroom. Last week I got a huge shipment, and it wasn't really safe to let anyone back there. One woman was so irate with me! "But it's for the kid!" "I know, and I'm sorry. But it's not safe! There's a restroom in Womens Dept store right next to us." But then she never took the kid to the bathroom...
