My BFF had been unable to keep food down for *3 weeks.*
I finally convinced her that she needed to hound the doctors and get some kind of diagnosis. Don't take a shrug of the shoulders and "come back in 2 weeks if it continues."
So she went to the ER, not her PCP and they quickly diagnosed her. The doctor said it was easy because there's not a lot of things that would have her symptoms. She no longer has an appendix or ovaries, so that leaves this.
She spent 4 days in the hospital being treated. Got out Thursday morning and was actually able to eat.
I swear sometimes I'm a bigger advocate for her care than she is. She tries to just sleep off stuff.
