Smile Kitten with no back legs!

Too cute! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zMIBx...feature=relmfu

His name is Anakin and having only 2 legs doesn't seem to bother him much. Be interesting to see how he does when he gets bigger and heavier...the description says if the vet thinks some sort of wheeled cart will help him they'll do that. I've seen it on dogs...I wonder how a cat would tolerate it.

From the description:
Quote:
Two xrays on him showed he was born with no pelvis or back legs. We let him walk around the room for a minute to see how he moves. He positions his front legs at an angle towards the middle of his body and balances his backend in the air with the use of his tail touching the ground if he needs it. He gets around really well that way and is pretty quick too. The xray also showed that his insides were not malformed
Some more Anakin:

What an amazing little guy! Yeah, a wheelchair might be just the thing for him later, so he has a front paw free to grab stuff. Dawwww, he's just a regular little kitten. Nature is very strange sometimes.

Anakin is adorable! I love how he wiggles his botty when he was playing with the string of beads!

not to mention that takes some strength to keep his butt up like that without legs to support it

He is SO cute! If he doesn't become too heavy he might be able to manage as he is, even when he's full-grown -- I saw a video clip some time ago showing an adult cat walking on its front paws. No idea why (IIRC it had hind legs), but the butt was just held high in the air and the cat was trotting along at a pretty good clip.

But a set of wheels would probably make Anakin's life easier. Animals adapt amazingly fast. Another video showed a cat that needed to artificial hind feet (don't remember what happened to its own feet), and as soon as the drugs wore off, the cat was up and ready to go -- and not just on level surfaces; it was scampering over a lot of things in its path. The vet was the one with the problem, trying to keep the cat from getting over-ambitious and possibly injuring itself!
