AT the library, people go to a reservation computer to reserve a computer, which involves you typing in your user id (which is on your library card) and password.. When you are assingned a computer, you go to it and type in your same password.
But on the 2nd floor job lab, we have to reserve the computer for the customers, which involves them giving us their library card and password. I ask people to write their password on a piece of paper.
Customer comes up, wanting to use a job lab computer. I ask for his card and his password.
Five minutes latter I see him still trying to log in. I'm watching him typing in a longer sequence of characters then the password he gave me.
Me: Are you typing in the password you gave me in the password box?
Idiot: yes.
Me: It looks like you are typing in a password longer than what you gave me.
Now the userid appears as what was used to log in a customer, but I see he is erasing the userid and typing in the password he gave me.
Me: You don't type in the password in "userid".
Idiot: I'm not typing in my password, I'm typing in my userid.
Me: But that is the password you gave me.
Idiot: I'm typing my user id.
Me: your userid is your library card number. Type the password you gave me in the password box.
Idiot: Why would I give you my password? No one can look at my password.
Me: In order for me to log you in on these computers, you had to give me your library card and your password. ON the computers on the other floors you log yourself in.
Idiot finally typed in the number he gave me as his password in the password box.
The number he gave me couldn't even be his user id, since that is 14 characters, and his user id he try to type in was 6 characters. Could he not remember that his userid was her library card? So much fail here.
