    Does anyone else see this being horribly abused by employers who claim that employees volunteered to keep working during their break, or employers just plain strong-arming employees into doing so?

    Well, it does say that the employer is liable for providing sufficient time for a break, and the worker is responsible for taking that time, so the best thing to do is go; the judge has said that's what you should do.

      ..or just giving them too much work to do so they either take a break or get in trouble for not completing their work...
