Basically the swim school I'm going to be training with is part of a statewide chain. They have two "infant" classes, which are the waterbabies and the kindergarten class, after that the classes are given names such as Starfish, Marlin, Bluefin and so on.
They do have squads, but I'm not getting involved with those.
on top of that, the parents are required to sit in a separate area AWAY from the pool area (which has a glass barrier), so I'm not constantly getting badgered by a parent every five seconds. If they have an issue with me in any way shape or form, they can bring it up with the deck supervisor, who sort of acts like an on-duty lifeguard, but is also higher up in the food chain than me.
I will be supervised constantly by another instructor while I'm being trained.
The manager was also VERY impressed when I rocked up the other day with not only the original copies of my CPR and police check, but also photocopies for her records
