  • Seven Hour SCs...

    http://www.relax.com.sg/article/news...ng-reservation

TL;DR version, tour group tried to book a room...but the card they tried to use was expired, so they never actually had a reservation. They complained for seven hours before the hotel apparently agreed to just pay to put them up elsewhere.

The last part of that sentence makes me want to blow up the Earth...
"That's too bad. Hospitals aren't fun to fight through."
"What IS fun to fight through?"
"Gardens. Electronics shops. Antique stores, but only if they're classy."

Seven HOURS?! I would have thrown them out of the lobby in seven MINUTES (if not seven SECONDS!)!

And free rooms? Which they then have the _gall_ to complain about?! "Sorry, if they're not up to your standards you are free to leave!"

And pay to send them somewhere else? Just _not_ happening!

Any bets they threw fits at the new place?

They tried to reserve rooms using an expired credit card, and didn't notice that it didn't work? They go to the hotel anyway, and (from context of story, it looks like) there are only 4 rooms left. Considering the manner in which a typical hotel room is equipped (2 beds, either double or queen), and the fact they had 24 people, of course you're going to have people sleeping on the floor (they're lucky that one room had bunk beds, so fewer people would have needed to sleep on the floor).

They check in (seeing what the accommodations are) and go to Disneyland, then only start complaining when they get back at 7 PM? If the rooms weren't up to their standards, they should have gone looking for other options at check-in time. Thanks to their delaying tactics, the hotel could easily have wound up turning away other "walk-ins" who (due to having a reasonable number of people per room) would have been quite happy to rent the rooms. Also, how many other guests did the hotel need to comp due to the disturbance?

I can see 2 faults in the hotel's actions:

      1) Giving them ANY freebies.

      2) Failing to call the police to get the group removed at the first sign of "give us free stuff or we're going to make things miserable for you".
Any fool can piss on the floor. It takes a talented SC to shit on the ceiling.
