I literally can't stop crying. (((Greenday))). So wishing I could go back in time and prevent it. I do look forward to the wonderful, inspiring stories in years to come of the amputees who went on with their lives with strength and dignity. But right now I feel devastated.

My aunt's been trying to qualify for the Boston marathon for a while. This makes me glad that she didn't qualify this year.

My friend was watching with her kids but they were further back along the route and were home before the bombs went off. Her husband works a few blocks away and took a while to get home, but they are all safe now.

For those of you that are wondering if people you know are ok, Google has activated their Person Finder service so that you can search for people that were meant to be at the event (and other people can provide info on those they know about) - granted it is not a guaranteed source of information but it is at least somewhat solid.

My ex-girlfriend lives in the Boston area-- not anywhere close the danger areas-- but it still made me worry enough about her that I reached out to her on G-chat, just asking her to let me know she was okay.

She is, at work in a state of shock/panic, but otherwise okay.

I knew she would be, but it was still good to know it.

There's now reports other undetonated devices are being found. I have to admit, when I heard about the two explosions I immediately thought "okay, what else is coming?" This could've been much worse than it was, and it's already terrible.

Think Progress is live-updating their blog: http://thinkprogress.org/politics/20...the-aftermath/

Latest says 3 dead; and "what they believe are 5 additional, undetonated explosive devices" found.

I'm fine...just "Boston area." Wasn't anywhere near Boston. Family is also safe.

Me heart goes out to the dead, the injured, and anyone else around there who could use a hug right now o_O

I was watching this with family for several hours this afternoon til I couldn't really take it anymore >_<

One of the few bright notes about this was the large number of reports of first-responders and medical personnel who saw/heard what was happening and just ran right into the damaged areas to help evacuate and care for people.

Awesome. Now I'm reading the WBC is going to picket the funerals of the people killed in the explosions.

Hold on, I have something to show you all. It's my shocked face.

CNN's Anderson Cooper reports that there have been at least 10 amputations as a result of the bombings. Hubby and I are speechless.

Well, where else are they going to get attention and free publicity?

                              -.-

I can't wait for the first conspiracy theory to link the WBC and this together. (given that publicity around the WBC has died down recently) Hope that the Patriot Guard Riders are out in full force.

I am okay. I got a ton of texts before I knew the bomb went off (I was doing DnD stuff with a friend...) asking if I was okay which confused me. Then I found out what happened.

Family is also okay, including sister who was helping out in the marathon (she was at a water stand in Newton.)

I'm currently in a state stuck between extreme rage at those who would do something so sociopathic and worry plus sorrow for the people who have been directly affected. It's a very miserable place to be in.

It's so I can get ideas out of my head, I decided to put it in a blog in case people are bored or are curious as to the (many) things in progress.
