If you pick up your pizza, you don't need to tip. That's what I do when I don't have tip money. Or like you all said eat at home. These people are basically saying "By the way, I'm a jerk and you should know now."
I always tip well. I live in a rainy climate, and if it's raining I tip even more. After all, they brought me my food in the rain, when I was too lazy to go get it or make some for myself. I don't order takeout that often, but I always factor in a tip.
