this sounds like the company i use to work for - we'd get this awesome coffee in small bags. rip one open and dump the whole thing in the pot.
as for preventing the weirdness, my ideas
- move the spare bags to an office where people have to ask for some
on one hand you'll figure out quickly who's doing this, or they'll even stop for fear of being caught. on the other hand people will balk at being treated like children.
- get an empty canister or an empty jar and dump a bag of decaf in it so you can reseal it.
on one hand the coffee in the small jar won't be fresh, and the culprit may just open a new bag anyway, but on the other hand it's possible they'll just go for the old stuff and save you the expense of new bags. and if it's not fresh... well that's on them.
- or combine the ideas. put a jar of the decaf out for half-caf brews. but keep the full bags in the office. (either both kinds or just decaf)
