Husband has a D deficiency, as a result of a whacked-out thyroid (thank GODS not his pituitary, that would have been horrid). He's on one 50,000/two weeks, and the doc specifically put him on the D2 for reasons that I don't quite understand, but it was based on his bloodwork and the synthroid.
It's the lack of follow-up that worries me. Every time they change his meds, they send him in for another round of bloodwork, even if it doesn't come with an appointment. Just to check and make sure everything is kosher. Then there's a follow-up. Then another adjustment. It's all fine-tuning, but finally seems to be working.
