  • Good news for once!

This about my wonderful other job at the school.

The school year is drawing to a close, and lately the kids have been asking me if I'm going to be around next year. I couldn't give them an answer because I hadn't heard anything, and the three month contract I was given was nearly up. I was feeling very sad at the thought of leaving the school and not coming back.

Well, they just gave me another three month contract I also get paid the same wage I am on during the summer break!

Also, when I went from volunteer work to paid, the school had to perform another background check on me. This delayed me getting put on the payroll, so I haven't seen any of the money yet, but I have just learned that at the end of this month, I will recieve all three months pay at once!

    Can anyone say shopping trip?

A good rule of thumb is that if you get a windfall, put at least half away.

Retail therapy works!!! and I also vote for putting 1/2 - 2/3 in savings, so that you can take care of business for a month or 2 if you finally decide to tell the Pub to Sod Off!!

Forget "retail therapy" shopping is hardly a waste of money. It's called "those jeans really aren't that great, but they can wait until I get money".

10% shopping, 80% savings, 10% cushion for living.
