Mr G has been sentenced to 5 years' imprisonment after threatening bookmakers' staff with a hammer before fleeing with £800. He tried to blame the raid on his brother giving his name and details. However Mr G's story fell apart after CCTV analysis showed one key detail-the height of the robber who was extremely tall and lanky and was therefore much more likely to be 6'6 Mr G than his much shorter brother who only measured 5'6.

Aren't all the bookie shops like this one? Or is that only in the movies?"I don't have to be petty. The Universe does that for me."

No bookie I've been in has that kind of set-up; open, where anyone can lean over the counter? Utterly ridiculous. I guess it's possible one might have a shutter system, as a surprising amount of ex-banks have been turned into bookies. This was one of those times where my mouth says "have a nice day" but my brain says "go step on a Lego". - RegisterAce
