    Oh I forgot to update; I was smeared with the warmed up stuff again. Felt over-hot on a scar but that may just be because the skin's thinner there, everywhere else it quickly shifted from warm to cold and sticky.

      Rash does not appear to have been impetigo ... at least, the prescriptions did nothing. Went to a walk-in clinic; THAT doctor told me it's a bad case of eczema, with few spots of cellulitis. His prescriptions have done nothing either.

      I'm wondering if it's contact dermatitis. I spread diatomaceous earth around after a bedbug problem last spring, including on my bedframe and the underside of my mattress. Apparently it can really irritate your skin. But it seems odd that the problem has just cropped up in the last month or so.

        Is the rash still there? If so, I'd suggest a dermatologist. It's a bit strange that so many doctors all got it wrong, but a specialist should know what it is.
