So, I had lunch at the Whole Paycheck buffet the other day. Cashier rings me up for $12 and change.
I hand her a couple of $10s, she hands me back bills and change. Being rather distracted at the time, I just stuff them in my pocket. A moment later she says "whoops, I gave you $12 instead of $7". I do a double take and pull the bills back out... yup, she did. I trade the $10 she gave me for a $5.
Only as I'm walking away do I realize just how lucky she was -- not only am I an easygoing and honest type, but I'd put the bills in my pocket instead of my wallet, so I could easily tell. (Admittedly, if I'd put them in my wallet I'd have had a much better chance of noticing the error myself.)
