OK, I have an embarassing secret to share, but I'm sure you will all get a kick out of it.
When I was in my second semester of nursing school, I tried to make toast . . . .
In a microwave oven.
My nurse had told me to give some toast to a laboring mom who was a bit nauseous. I couldn't find a toaster but did find a microwave. I didn't know how to use one; it was 1985 and my parents hadn't bought one. What I got was a shriveled white brick.
Imagine, if you will, the exasperated roll of the eyes of my OB instructor when she found out.
I actually do know how to cook.
