I just remembered this story from a long time ago from 1 of my first jobs. It was 1994 and I was working usher. A customer was having trouble playing Street Fighter 2, so I showed them how to play the game better, with my favorite character Chun-Li anyway. They were playing as Blanka. The customer thanked me.
An hour or two later, I get pulled into the office by a manager.
Manager: Why were you playing video games on the clock?
Me: Well, I was just trying to show them how to play better.
Manager: You are not supposed to do that. I should write you up.
At this point I am trying to think of a way to weasel my way out of this, and my mind is thinking fast and hard.
Me: Sir, I was providing great customer service.
Manager: How so?
Me: Well, they needed help playing the game, I helped them out, and they were very thankful. They even said they were going to come back to our theatre again, thanks to me. (I made this part up)
It did not appear that the manager really believed me, but I did not get written up. Needless to say, this was the last time I did that. But its still unbelievable that I did not got written up.
