    Story the second
Me: Thank you for calling (resort), this is Smiley, how may I help you?
SC: What buffets do you have?
Me: We have the (speciality buffet) Friday through Sunday, and a Sunday brunch.
SC: Well that's stupid, who would want all you can eat (speciality)?
Me: The average wait on a Friday night is over an hour.
    *click*
and ftr- our Sunday brunch buffet is the best I've found in the county so far... even better than the snooty "Reno's only 4 diamond" buffet.
Not wanting to bother you, but we moved to Reno 2 years ago... and I'm seriously interested in "the best in the county" buffet! We've only really tried one: Sunday - all you can eat crab legs at the Casino/Hotel with the mine inside and the metallic name, and we'd love to know more.

And just because Reno looked at Las Vegas and decided "yeah, we don't want to be them..." doesn't mean that Las Vegas is better. The dolphins had it right in Hitchhiker's...

I love the descriptions. We've only had the buffets at those two places but we may have to branch out and try others. Don't worry, I'm not trying to find out where you work and stalk you Buffets are easier with a hungry toddler
Can't believe I missed this reply earlier
But the best buffet I've found (other than our Sunday Brunch) is the King Buffet at Kietzke and Peckham.

eta- cookies to the first non-local who can figure out the proper way to pronounce both of those streets, because my GPS can't

smiley -- Well, I'm used to unpronounceable words from my time in NOLA (I offer the same challenge to non-locals: pronounce "Tujague's" (a restaurant)!) ...so I'll take a crack at it.

keet-skee and pek-hum? (not sure what's so hard about the latter)

          Close.
I'll make the correct way highlightable in case anyone else wants to take a guess

Kietzke is pronounced kits-key and Peckham is pronounced peck-em

My GPS however pronounces it "kee-kee" and "pick-ham"
Oh well, it also thinks McCarran is Mac-are-en.
My favorite is when it gets common words wrong (Venus, like the planet or the tennis player, was pronounced like the city Venice).

Rob says next time we are through Reno we will stay with you =)

Though all you can eat seafood is a bit of a draw...that is the one thing I really miss from living in Tidewater, Captain Georges... *sob*

My GPS has some weird pronunciation issues. It'll try to pronounce "QEW" as if it were a word, rather than the acronym for "Queen Elizabeth Way", and it also tells me (in NY state) to turn onto the "Thomas East Dewey Thruway" (assuming that "E" means "East", while it's actually the middle initial of the guy the road was named after - yep, the same guy from the infamous "Dewey Beats Truman" headline).

As for Captain George's, it's taking forever to load, but since it's a seafood place it's obviously not the one I'm familiar with (back in Vancouver when I was a kid, it was a chain of burger places).
Any fool can piss on the floor. It takes a talented SC to shit on the ceiling.

We've driven past the King Buffet lots of times but never stopped. I have informed the hubby that we will be next time

I had the Sirius/XM traffic report for a while in my car. It would pronounce US 50 as "us" 50, but not consistently.
