So he went to the media and now he has a hard time because everyone knows. Yes, it was bad, but going to the media was his own fault. It's not like the "Dear Rich Bastard" letters, where they were sent to actual clients.

I have no idea.

My guess is that someone might've been playing a prank on him by signing up for an account in that name, sent to the family's address, but if there was payment, it would've come out of the prankster's account. That's just my guess anyway.
