Almost paid to do nothing

I'm so mad! I was supposed to work 2pm-10pm at work today. Instead, they called me yesterday and asked me to come in at 4am- 12pm to help with our seasonal change over.

THEN today AFTER my shift, they decide to have an emergency closing of the store at 2pm due to the weather.

Our company policy is that emergency weather closings entitle you to get paid for the hours you were scheduled even though you didn't have to work them.

So I COULD have gotten paid today for doing nothing!! I was sooo close!

I was sent home early. There were only 6 people working today me and my mother included, and 5 minutes after I punch in Anthony (awesome manager) tells me he's going to close the store. I basically came in to clean up and go home. I wish he would have called me.
