Don't let it bother you. You know that you did nothing wrong. A few years ago, I was working the front desk for a large hotel. I had been very specifically instructed by the manager to not handle any sales requests (like for events or meetings). A couple came in and wanted some information on having their wedding at the hotel. I let them know that the sales manager would be with them shortly and went on about my business.

The next day, I got fired. They had complained to the manager that they felt like I wouldn't help them because they were black, and it was the worst customer service experience of their entire lives. I was deemed to be a horrible representation of the company, with a poor attitude, and lost my job because someone was pissed that they had to wait 5 minutes.

And yeah, it really hurt my feelings for a while. I may be a lot of things, but a racist is not one of them. I finally had to realize that these people, my manager included, had some personal problems and I was just a scapegoat. Then I let it go and I moved on.
Thank you for calling Card Services, how may I take your abuse today? ~Headset Hellion

Of course then I would get morons who insisted they needed a tub bath
        Oi!

A tub bath is a great boon to me - it eases my muscle pains and reduces the load on my body for a while. Whereas a shower - even with shower chair and grab-bars - is an additional strain.

        <sniff>

And I do like to think I'm not a moron.

Are you perfectly healthy? If there were no rooms at all in the place with a tub would you pitch a shit fit or just shrug and end up taking a long hot shower and a few ibuprofin/naproxen/painkiller of choice?

            No and yes, in order.

Actually, I have lived in places with no bath, because that's what we could afford at the time. I would sit in the floor of the shower and let the warm water flow over me. Usually needed my beloved to help me out when I was done.

I fully feel that the bathroom should be a major focus in both hotel rooms and at home. I don't know how people have managed with such small bathrooms in years past. When we build a house, I want a separate shower and tub (both being big enough for two) with the shower being walk in with grab bars. I also want two separate sinks and the toilet to have its own separate room.

Because being able to pull a special, non existent room from your ass is apparently, "serving the customer" these days. It's a shame assault is still illegal. I would know, I check every morning.

                  Moirae - agreed ^_^

Where I'm living now doesn't allow for much, but I did get one little thing -- thanks to my brother, as it happens. The "throne" in the bathroom needed to be replaced before I moved in, so he was able to work it so that the new one was put in at a 45 degree angle to the wall -- in other words, diagonally in the corner, allowing plenty of room on both sides Helps for a ..er, *ahem* Rubenesque gent such as myself.. to not have to sit on a crapper that feels like it's an inch and a half from the damn wall ~_~

My best guess is that you didn't move the people out of the room he wanted. In his little world that means you were unwilling to help him and were being rude because you asked him to let you know if he would be staying there.
But if the shoe were on the other foot (i.e. moving HIM out so someone else could get the room THEY wanted), there'd be hell to pay. After all, SCs don't understand the principle of symmetry.
Any fool can piss on the floor. It takes a talented SC to shit on the ceiling.

wolfie - sure they do. All customers are equal (and above workers)...Some of them are just more equal than others.

If the customer was nice and I had a few minutes, I might have put in the effort to call a few other hotels in the area to see if they could accommodate her father, but there's really not much else to do in a situation like that.
