Tommy had a low IQ. His parents, feeling that he needed a sense of responsibility, managed to get him a job at a local market. Tommy did well, except that the local teenage boys caught on that Tommy was a bit slow and started coming by after school and offering him a nickel or a dime. Tommy always chose the nickel and the boys always laughed at him. The manager, feeling for Tommy, told him one day, "Tommy, you need to know something. Even though the nickel is bigger, the dime is still worth more."
Tommy responded, "I know that, but if I took the dime, they'd stop doing it!"
