Well, for your unofficial motto, I recommend "Good, fast, cheap. Pick any two, you can't have all three." But I'm sure your boss wouldn't want that as the public motto.
Two bits of info we need:
* what's your unique selling point? In what way are you different from/better than other supplies departments?
* Failing that, what's the point you want to emphasise?
(For example, a brand of menstrual supplies products did a line of ads that demonstrated their absorbency in a very funny and cute way. All pads are absorbent, so it wasn't a unique selling point. But it was the point they chose to emphasise.)
Seshat's self-help guide:
1. Would you rather be right, or get the result you want?
2. If you're consistently getting results you don't want, change what you do.
3. Deal with the situation you have now, however it occurred.
4. Accept the consequences of your decisions.

Still haven't really done much...but here's the rules:
Must be 7 words or less. Prizes for the winner. Bonus points for an acronym.
And the two that have been posted so far: Shallow end is for wussies. Taxidea taxus: ferus lentus cavo profundus! (which I haven't quite translated; Google gives me gibberish, there are several possible choices for most of the words; Taxidea taxus is the taxonomy name for badger, though.)
I don't go in for ancient wisdom I don't believe just 'cause ideas are tenacious It means that they're worthy - Tim Minchin, "White Wine in the Sun"
"We supply what you need" Probably a bit too straightforward and simplistic.
Engaged to the amazing Marmalady. She is my Silver Dragon, shining as bright as the sun. I her Black Dragon (though good honestly), dark as night..fierce and strong.
the two I posted were 6 and 7 words and spelled badger...I really hate being an "invisible poster"
I saw them and thank you.
I just wanted to copy what was actually posted on the sharepoint thread since I couldn't remember the wording when I first posted this thread. I copied it and emailed it home.
