Minimum size of external hard-drives I've seen is around 320GB. Biggest I've seen is 2TB. Take your pick.

And the current cheap average is the 500GB drives for dirt cheap. I snagged a 500GB external 2.5" for $50. I use it for my steam backups primarily so I don't have to download the games all over again. They've become absurdly cheap now.
