  • Communication: Basic stuff or why it won't hurt to do something that takes a minute.

    For the last year or so, I've been freelancing for various news organizations around the state. It's not bad and the pay's good, but I want something more stable.

    I've had a few interviews with some places, and most of them have been prompt when it comes to communication. I respect that, I just hate the whole, "Let's interview you, show you around, introduce you to some of the campaigns we're working on, thank you for coming, and then not call back at all" mindset.

    Seems communication is like kryptonite to most people. I get the whole job application thing, but when I'm interviewed, treated like my hiring is a sure thing, only to get the cold shoulder because the hiring manager didn't like that I use mechanical pencils, then I'm going to be mad.
