A great man who was so much more than "The Greatest". He stood up for what he believed even when it cost him everything. Rest in Peace.

I am originally from Louisville and I can't even explain how beloved he is there. My mom actually taught his nephew and he visited her 2nd grade class! She said he was polite and very charming and great with the kids, but even then (some 30-odd years ago) he was suffering from Parkinson's. She wasn't a sports fan and not from Louisville herself, so she didn't understand how huge it was that she had him in her classroom. I remember seeing a couple photos someone took that day, I'll have to see if she can find them for me.
