  • In Which Kanalah Made Me Cry....

I've been stressed out a lot lately, mainly due to my increasing amount of debt and the uncertainty of how I'm going to make ends meet. And of top THAT I started coming down with a bit of the flu Saturday. Today I just couldn't make it to work, I called my Lt and said, "I'm sick as hell."

And because I'm sitting here sick at home, I was able to receive a package from FedEx. I kind of had a feeling that I would be getting a quilt at some point because Kanalah not-so-subtly asked me in chat recently about what colors I like, and I mentioned dark blues look amazing on me.

What I didn't expect was to take a look at the quilt, hug it, and start bawling. It is without a doubt the greatest gift I've ever received. Despite all the years I was with my ex, it has amazed me how much more my friends know me than she ever did. I guess it's different when people truly care about you.

    And now it's show-and-tell time

And a final touch on the back of the quilt. I gushed quite a bit in chat, but I want to say thank you again, Kanalah. You are wonderful!

Awww. I didn't want to make people cry.

                          I just thought: 1. Kara's awesome.

B err 2. I throw quilts at people.

                          3. I am really bad at hiding surprises. And subtlety. Need to work on that.

                          4. She threatened to buy me coffee...no one's ever done that before.

                          iii. We're practically sisters anyway.

I am still a little bummed that it won't fit in the computer folder with the other phoenixs

I think those are tears of joy and happiness. That beautiful quilt you made brought joy to a lot of people
Coffee should be strong, black and chewy! It should strip paint and frighten small children.
