On Tuesday, June 10, I had a delivery booking sitting in my bin when I came to work.
All it said on it was "2 weeks on Sat".
OK...I took that to mean 2 weeks from the Saturday, which was June 14, so I set up the guy's delivery for June 28.
I got a call from him today and he tore a strip off me.
Apparently, 2 weeks from June 9, which was the day he paid for his item, is June 21, and not June 28. I couldn't reason with him, nor could I make him see how I could have taken it the way I did.
He kept going on about, "Why would I pay for it on June 9 and ask for it in 2 weeks if I wanted it next week? I entered into a contract with you on that day and I expect my delivery when I was promised it."
I didn't even handle the damn sale.
The guy who was supposed to be working in the warehouse, but was out on the floor playing salesman arranged it all and took down the info.
When I came in the next day, I called it in to our other store to set up the delivery time, and it's been booked ever since. The guy never called back to check, and I was not told to call him when the delivery was set up.
I talked to the manager, and he is going to work something out to get the item to the guy tomorrow.
So, I can sort of see his way, since 2 weeks from that Monday would be the 23rd, and the closest Saturday is tomorrow, but, technically, it's not 2 weeks yet.
Honestly, though, if you saw a note saying. "2 weeks on Sat", what would you assume?
