The city was putting up new power poles along my street and we had a brief power outage. When the power came back ... my internet was gone. (Considering it was supposed to be gone as of June 10, I wasn't complaining much.) I've decided to try something different and have signed up with a local ISP. I didn't even know such things existed!

iirc, they were VERY widespread at the start of general internet usage, but fell by the wayside as the big boys caught on. Hope they're reasonable and meet your needs, always best to shop local!
