If you know the answer...

When a person is gambling, do they have to tip the dealer after every hand?

Like at a blackjack table...if you don't win, do you have to tip the dealer anyway? And what's customary?

What about for other games, like poker, roulette, craps?

My wife and I were talking about this the other day, and we weren't sure how that worked.

You don't HAVE to tip ever if you don't want. And you certainly don't have to tip after every hand. I tip after I win with fun dealers. It's not just their job to flip cards and move chips around. They are supposed to entertain too. If a dealer is more entertaining, I'll be tipping even after small wins.

Poker I tip after I win a hand. That's it. Craps I'll tip when I win. I don't play roulette.

when I was playing blackjack, I would occasionally put one in the tip spot...so basically playing for the dealer too...

Based on how much I win. Somehow I usually end up at $15 minimum tables. I tip a couple bucks per win.
