  • Anoka Halloween 2011 *image heavy*

Photos of the parade, and when they're done loading on YouTube, I have a couple of videos. I didn't take pictures of each and every parade entry because there are over 150 entries, and the whole thing lasts about 2.5 hours.

Friday morning...All is calm...quiet...before about 30,000+ people flood into a town of 18,000 over 3 days.

Parade starts at 1pm, but this was taken at about 11am. People set up their chairs as early as 11:30pm the night before. Yes, they set them up and leave them overnight.

    For us Harry Potter fans!

    Only in Minnesota...

On the bridge crossing the Rum River...

40 minutes until parade start. People already starting to return to their spots.

Great pictures! And some really good costumes, too. Particularly liked Hagrid, Luna, Fred and Draco as well as Jack Sparrow, Popeye and Olive and the Elvis impersonator.

Looks like you had some fun. We had some similar things here, but I didn't learn about them until it was too late to change my work schedule.

                I love stuff like that.

I have to admit, yes, our town is rural, tiny and has no sidewalks - it is really not safe to trick or treat here so we have a town party. But I really miss seeing the kids going around in costumes

I think I'll make funnel cakes for dessert tonight.
